20mph speed limit for #Chislehurst? Rather than trying to find ways of increasing traffic volumes and speed through Chislehurst shouldn't we be attempting to reduce them? A rough calculation shows that the distance from the top of White Horse Hill to Leesons Hill roundabout
(& Perry Street junction with Ashfield Ln to Bickley Park Road roundabout) is no more than 1 3/4 miles. Reducing the speed limit from 30 to 20mph (assuming travelling at the limit for the whole journey) would add less than two minutes to the total journey time. What do you think?
Interestingly 18 votes were placed within the space of just ten minutes on the second day of the poll and all were in favour of retaining limit at 30mph. Just saying!

Following ANOTHER accident on Saturday evening and YET ANOTHER this evening at the mini-roundabout on #Chislehurst Common, we would like to remind anyone who's listening that we came up with a solution in 2014 - block the roundabout approaches and the Ashfield Lane turning.
Four years on and the only things that have changed are that we have some coloured chevrons at the Ashfield Lane turning (that everyone drives over), more accidents and more hospitalisations. These are B roads and local access roads that are not designed for through traffic.
Our suggestions would make for a very pleasant open green space in the heart of Chislehurst. Maybe the residents of Chislehurst could start implementing the blocks themselves? If we're going to have flytippers like at the top of Old Hill today, let's have some useful flytipping!
