Hello from the DC federal courthouse, where Roger Stone has a pretrial conference this morning. Jury selection is set to begin tomorrow.

Stone's pretrial conf. is underway. Judge Amy Berman Jackson is going over the trial schedule:
- She expects to finish jury selection tomorrow
- If they finish tomorrow, no opening args until Wed.
- If jury selection goes to Wed., they'll start with openings as soon as seated

The judge warns everyone that live audio/video will be piped into the media room (hello from the media room!) and to be wary of what the microphones in the courtroom can pick up even when no one is up at the lectern

Well. We are still talking about that "Godfather: Part II" clip. The judge ruled the govt can't show the clip as of now, AUSA Jonathan Kravis says they plan to ask a case agent to briefly describe the clip before Randy Credico is asked about receiving the text, Stone objects

Stone's lawyer argues no one should be asked about the text and reference to the movie except the person who received the message, Randy Credico: To have a govt case agent describe the movie clip "makes it a feature of the case and it should not be a feature of the case."

Okay. Jackson says the case agent can briefly testify as to the facts of the movie, that there was a character (Frank Pentangeli) and a scene involving whether Pentangeli would testify before a congressional committee. This is the least sensational way to do it, she says
