I see people using intersex people as proof that sex =/= binary...which I agree with. But I also see people on here saying intsx ppl have disorders & are rare, so we don’t count... this is false & harmful. That thinking, peddled by ignorant doctors, leads to human rights abuses.
Intersex is just another BIOLOGICAL way of being human. . .Back in the day, we were labeled hermaphrodites, then intersex. When my community started to reclaim those words & organize, docs tried to pull the linguistic rug from below, & label us: disorders of sex development 🤬
Then when there was an uproar over being called disorders, these little bitch ass doctors were like oh we’re sorry, we’ll call you differences of sex development instead (DSD)...
