Team @Nabhangan5 applauds @meghnagulzar @deepikapadukone @masseysahib and the entire team of the brave film #CHHAPAAK for bringing to light this horrendous crime of Acid attacks that has crushed and scarred futures and lives of so many in the most horrific ways. Image
Films like these must reach every corner of the country including our villages and smaller towns that don't have much awareness about the intensity of this act because it the mentality that needs to change first.
As we know, despite the acid ban, it is not only available with such ease but the number of attacks have gone up in the last few years.
@masseysahib , who has been a constant support to us and our farmers does a brilliant job in bringing out the story of the real life hero @alokdixit17 .
@TheLaxmiAgarwal , thank you for being the face of courage for all of us. A thousand salutes for your journey. Thank you all for telling these stories with such sensitivity and detail.

#Thread - Let the truth prevail

Dear @iampayalghosh , I am Rajshri Deshpande. I am not writing this because I worked with @anuragkashyap72 in 2 projects. But I am writing this so that I can listen to your voice.
2- Payal, apart from an actor I have been working for past 8 years in rural areas of India where I worked closely with women who survived trafficking, abuse, violence&suppression. We all know that MeToo started across the globe to give voice to each of us from different backgrounds
3-I think we need such movements for each suppressed voice in the world. If Anurag has done something wrong then we have a system to take action for it but if the acquisitions are false then MeToo mass movement will start crumbling and will lose its aim.

#MunnaHussain Ji is now happily staying in VishramGhar shelter home in Karjat.

I am trying to find people who knew him from film fraternity. #MunnaHussain Ji said he worked with as a production controller on many films. FTII team is not sure if he is from the institute ImageImageImageImage
Fortunately I found many photos and paper cuttings about his film work which is attached here. There are many known faces.

It’s quite clear that he is from the industry. he also has card of IMPPA but he said he didn’t get any help from anywhere. ImageImageImageImage
There must be many film people who may not be part of any association or don’t know anyone there & suffering due to no work or no money or no support and on road begging or are physically weak or mentally disturbed. Isn’t it our film industry’s responsibility to look after them?

I don't know how I feel right now. One side I am celebrating the victory of convincing 10 women from Ambi village to do small scale business but on the other, Rajesh ji, whom I'd kept in a shelter home last week, ran away from there.
As the shelter home people told me he became violent and abusive.
When I saw him back near Yaari Road, I asked him why he left the shelter? He said he gets free langar food in Versova and by begging he buys his own liquor and tobacco.
He added, when he doesn't need to work and is fine sleeping on road then why should he stay in place with restricted timings and no liquor.
He chose this life and I had nothing left to say to him.

60 years old Rajesh Ji who is partially blind did laundry and Bhangar work is now homeless since 13 years . He says he has kids who don't want to take care for him. He is begging on yaari road which he is not sure since when.
Many people offer him little money to buy food but I think: why should he or many homeless suffer like this ? Why does our system not become strong so as to put up these people in a shelter for the homeless.
Why do they have to sleep in the open near bus stops, road sides or some empty space. Many people & security guards have beaten Rajesh ji and threw him out from their buildings.

When will we have the human values and take solution based decisions.

When I was child, I used to dance to @MadhuriDixit songs. Everyone in my colony and school used to call me 'Madhuri'. I used to love that. Theatre happened along with dancing and opened a different world of literature for me. But Madhuri always had a special place in my heart.
Coming from a small town, I had no idea about Bombay and the film industry. While growing up, I did read gossip magazines where they used to write about stardom and the lives of heros and heroines.
That was fun , dreamy and made me curious about their lives.
All my friends loved to dress like Madhuri Dixit from her films. Everything about the stars was exciting and colorful. Their clothes, their shoes, their hair styles, everything. People used to follow the stars.

Finally Munna Hussain Ji got a shelter home where he will now be comfortable and safe.

A 1982 FTII production graduate, Munna ji came to mumbai 30 years ago and started work in the production function for many films.
He has lost his family and work it’s been more than 15 years.
He tried his hand in directing in 1998 but lost all his money. After that he tried to do lot of odd jobs to compensate the loss. He says, he lost the battle financially, mentally, physically and emotionally. He got a paralysis attack and that completed his downfall.
Unfortunately, nobody came forward to help him. He told me he used to stay outside Kumar Shanus bungalow but when Shanu sold his place, Munna ji again became homeless. This time a builder told him about a place in Bandra and moved him there 10 years ago.
