I'm yet again attempting to create this thread, after Twitter deleted two accounts dedicated to this purpose, and after poor threading on my part in a subsequent attempt.
All the more so at a time of increasing and violent antisemitism, when the man who stabbed Jews at a Monsey Hanukkah celebration looked up "Zionist temples" before his rampage, it's important for people to understand this perfidious dimension of antisemitism.
Example 1 is a personal favorite:

The mask slips in other ways, too. Like when Yellow Vests in France attacked a Jewish philosopher, yelling at him, "Dirty Zionist!" and… "Dirty race!" Race.

Sometimes it's straight gaslighting, like this person who clearly says "Jews" ("yahood") then pretends she was just referring to "Zionists."
Use of "Zionist" as a euphemism might have started on the far-left, but hate, like air pollution, doesn't respect borders. Here's the far-right doing the same:

On a FB page created to protest the "Zionist criminal illegal occupation," we naturally learn about how Jews are responsible for everything bad:

Of course, all of this also means visibly Jewish people on trains inevitably will be harassed in the name of Gaza.
And that synagogues in Spain will be spray painted with "Free Palestine"

The font of Jewish prayer books, of Yiddish, of Ladino, and of Hebrew is cast as "ugly."

The gaslighting gets pretty extreme. Remember those Yellow Vests who yelled "dirty Zionist" and "dirty race" at a French philosopher?

This might not be as clear as some of the above examples, which involve admissions or slips of the tongue. But the extreme, unhinged, hate-filled nature of some of the rhetoric about Zionists on Twitter also underscores how "anti-Zionism" is an ugly obsession like other bigotries
But, of course, the hate defies rationality. It's not about the trees. "Zionists" depicted as parasitic and/or subhuman has a pedigree.
Another one, posted here just yesterday: The coronavirus outbreak blamed on "Zionist" shapeshifters.
It's now the "Zionists" who are responsible for the New World Order, homosexuality, and communism.
Here, a Twitter user (with #BDSIsrael in his profile) posts a Holocaust-denial image. Although his image refers to false "Jewish" claims, his tweet takes the route of saying "Zionists" are responsible for spreading the Holocaust "hoax."
On Saturday, Hitler defended Christians from "the Zionists." A day earlier, "Zionists" who control the banks were responsible for financing Hitler.
