Alyssa and others are so blinded by their belief that women are treated ‘less-than’ in modern-day America that they aren’t seeing things clearly.

In 2020, the ERA would only be a symbolic gesture for women. It is actually boys & men who would benefit.

A thread:
How would the ERA help women in 2020?

The gender pay gap? That’s due to women’s personal choices, and if there IS discrimination, there are laws already in place for that.

Sexual harassment? No... it wouldn’t help there, either.

The housework gender gap? You’re kidding, right?
But for men...

Research shows that men receive 63% longer sentences than women do for committing the same crime, and women are twice as likely to avoid incarceration if convicted.

If the ERA comes about, I hope we can address this inequality.
Domestic violence funding disproportionately benefits women when, research shows, there is a significant number of men who suffer from DV.

If the ERA comes about, I hope we can address this inequality.
Gender-specific scholarships disproportionately favors girls even though 57% of college students and the majority of those receiving associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctor’s degrees are women.

If the ERA comes about, I hope we can address this inequality.
Males are still required to register for selective service, females are not.

If the ERA comes about, I hope we can address this inequality.
There’s a bias in family court negatively affecting dads. There are multiple states trying to pass equal parenting laws, and women’s groups are actively fighting against them.

If the ERA comes about, I hope we can address this inequality.
Men’s health is underrepresented & underfunded in government. At least a dozen offices in the federal system are charged with promoting women’s health, but none exist exclusively to protect men.

If the ERA comes about, I hope we can address this inequality.
Men’s reproductive rights end at which birth control method to use. They have no say after a pregnancy occurs.

If the ERA comes about... could it address this inequality? 🧐

There has never been a better time to be a female in America. Open your eyes.

It is time for us to address the issues affecting boys & men if we truly want a prosperous society where both sexes are treated fairly!

I’ve had people arguing with me saying that I’m overreacting to Cuties and they don’t see any problems with the film. So here is a thread to explain why I am so angry, and hopefully by the end of it, you can understand.

Warning: it is upsetting.
1. When I was younger, I knew a man who turned out to be a predator. He was raping his own daughters. 4, 7, and 10 at the time. The girls told me and my sister. They trusted us. We told our mom right away. He ended up in prison.
2. When I watched Cuties, I could only imagine how many predators out there like that guy were easily watching the film. Those defending Cuties don’t seem to realize that predators, too, have easy access to Netflix. There are many scenes that go way way way too far. Sickening.

“When women are freed from burdens in the home... the future grows brighter for everyone.”

Hey ⁦@LynnParramore⁩ You ignore the significant role reversal that’s already happened here; it’s boys & men falling behind in our postindustrial economy. *1 nbcnews.com/think/amp/ncna…
All you (and others) want to focus on is “more girl power!”

Pre-pandemic, women became the majority of the workforce. Female-dominated sectors are soaring, male-dominated are disappearing.

It’s actually our boys & men (and families) we should be concerned about! *2
Boys have fallen far behind academically, but instead of addressing this, we double down on female empowerment and shame innocent boys into stepping aside. Our education system has become feminized and we’re leaving boys behind. *3

93% of our inmates are male. 90% grew up without a father.

Single mom households are 5x as likely to be living in poverty.

Do you know how we can reduce crime & poverty?

By society re-affirming the importance of men & fathers and their contributions to the family & household.
How do we do that?

First, stop the anti-male propaganda. We must spread awareness about how important men & fathers are.

Second, start young. Male dominated jobs are disappearing so we HAVE to adequately prepare our boys for the future; stop the shaming & encourage boys, too!
Third, we’ve had a significant role reversal in families. We’re busy blaming & shaming men into changing gender expectations for themselves & women, but we have to teach WOMEN that THEIR expectations for men must adjust in our modern world.

Can’t have their cake and eat it, too!
