It all started when we noticed that the councilmember who was introducing *emergency legislation* for a 🚲 lane (!) was using a phototweet from 2/21/20 to bolster her argument. To us, it seemed weird to use something where baseline facts (especially fault) weren’t clear for PR.
As the week ticked on, we noticed that the original phototweet had become the rallying cry for everyone pushing to force this 9th St NW 🚲 lane on us. Not surprisingly, WABA, the area’s 🚴♀️ advocacy group, led the charge to exploit this accident for gain, regardless of fault.
Using some of the allegedly almost $1M they receive from our own city govt to lobby that very same govt (!), they tied this accident to an automatic ☎️ & 📧 generator drive.
The truth was irrelevant here, too. [60 or 32?!] At this point, we wanted to see what the media reported.

Only the media never reported on it! That was our first confirmed clue that this 2/21/20 accident was likely the fault of the 🚴♂️. Anyone who follows us knows that the media can’t resist a 🚘 accident story. Yet, in this case, total silence.
