Challenge with convincing America about COVID19 - can't be easily observed. until people see someone they know die of it, they can sustain cognitive dissonance, and then its too late. Close the distance between death, seriously ill & larger public, the rest will fall in place
Look to 9/11 terrorist attack as an example, public to this day deathly afraid of al Qaeda or ISIS, in large part because we had a shared experience, we all watched that tragedy together, shared in the consequence, played the images endlessly
People in NY reacting, staying home more & more, as they know people who have it, are suffering and dying from it. Tough with social distancing, but we have the tech to close that distance, social media platforms can help break people's preference bubbles.
