1/ The US is moving toward a red-blue state corona divide: blue staters will look to Fauci, S Korea, and frontline medical personnel on TV and Twitter for advice, and stay home. Red staters will listen to Trump & Hannity, load up on guns, ammo, and anti-malarials, and go to work
2/ and church come Easter. This will reinforce the culture war. Trump will cheer this on. A lot of red staters will get ill in the next 2 months. Trump will lie about those stats, then blame the blue cities as incubators of the virus which then spread into the rest of the country
3/ It will be horrible & acrimonious, & worsen our politics even more as distributive issues between the states get sharp as the sickness tolls diverge. Trump will stir the pot as his strategy to deflect from his early year incompetence and defuse corona as an election liability.
4/ In short, if Trump & toadying, spineless red state governors stick to this artificial, wholly opportunistic for-the-evangelicals Easter deadline, there will be a noticeable divergence in red-blue state outcomes on corona, just like on so many issues. And naturally,T won't care
