/n My first corona-related data thread. ~60% of Dems say have no trust at all in Trump to provide information about the epidemic. Pence fares slightly better, with ~40% of Dems saying they trust him somewhat/a little. Everybody trusts their personal doctors/health care providers
/n Democrats are most likely to say they'd like to be tested for the virus--whether or not they might have been exposed. Republicans and Independents are significantly less likely to give this response.
/n Small but significant negative relationship between conservatism and wanting to get tested regardless of potential exposure
/n Blacks are significantly more likely than other groups to say they'd want to be tested if it was available
/n Non-white democrats (57.9% v. 68.9%) are actually slightly but significantly less likely to say they have no trust in Trump's provision of pandemic-related information. They are also roughly twice as likely (11.4% v. 5.6%) to mostly or completely trust him.
/n Came across another survey with more questions. I will continue to add to this thread a bit later.
/n Democrats and Liberals are significantly more likely to say that coronavirus-related stress has had a major negative impact on their mental health (no sex differences in this response within these groups)
/n
/n At least as of March 11-15, the largest partisan difference (Dem: ~70%, GOP: ~50% in virus-related concern relates to worries that oneself or one's family members will contract the virus.
/n Here are the mean and z-scored response across all 5 worry items
/n Overall, racial/ethnic minorities tend to report significantly higher levels of concern than whites. And this difference persists when adjusting for SES and other variables.
/n Perhaps this has changed with more information being released to the public since this survey ran, but blacks and hispanics exhibit significantly higher levels of inaccurate corona-related knowledge than whites and asians.
/n These differences are robust to controls for education level
