1/ "Transnational Localism" - this phrase popped in my head as an antidote to the era of globalization that has just ended.

We need strong and self-reliant local communities and economies everywhere (and community and economy are not separable).
2/ There are talented people everywhere but all of them should not be concentrated in a New York or San Francisco or Bengaluru.

Instead, use the power of broadband to enable the smart people to find local solutions to problems by learning about what has worked elsewhere.
3/ Capability and capital (just like community and economy) are one and the same and capabilities can spread and have to spread to strong self-reliant communities.

The globalized system today is fragile and non-resilient precisely because of the concentration of everything.
4/ Concentration of wealth and extreme global imbalances in trade are two sides of the same coin.

If we address the trade imbalances and enable capable, self-reliant local communities/economies, concentration of wealth will automatically go down without Big Statist policies.
5/ The new twist to the tale, and very new twist, is easy and cheap broadband.

It is possible for the daughter of a rural landless worker to learn how electrical motors or Javascript frameworks work. She doesn't have to do it all on her own - local talent can lead the way.
