Don't expect U.S. media to do a lot of hard-hitting exposes on China's lies about the coronavirus. The political agendas of the Chinese Communist Party, Democrats, and media are now in almost perfect alignment. The truth from China would not serve any of them.
For one thing, if the media started reporting the truth out of China, it would have to admit its prior reporting was wrong. It would have to admit it was uncritically passing along information it should have told its readers to doubt.
The Chinese Communist Party has plenty of leverage over U.S. media, especially Hollywood, which is a big factor in the finances of many corporations that own news outlets. The CCP is not shy about making it known that access to its markets depends on compliance with its politics.
Also, as the media admitted long ago with regard to Saddam's Iraq, it is willing to make concessions to authoritarian regimes to preserve "access." Many in the press sincerely believe this is better than having no access at all.
But most importantly, carrying China's water on the coronavirus serves Democrat political interests and hurts Trump. The media will not rush to report news that makes China look worse and Trump look better, especially not after their intense virtue-signaling on "China virus."
The CCP studies American politics VERY carefully and voraciously consumes American media. China's state-run publications constantly quote U.S. media sources. They know how to work an alignment of political interests to their advantage.
There is zero profit for U.S. media to hit China hard on the coronavirus, and very little interest among our brave frontline firefighters to risk arrest or worse by sneaking into China to tell the truth. Don't hold your breath waiting for it to happen. /end
