Starting a thread of sell side tech surveys/commentary, to see how it evolves from late March on.

First up Barclays on software:

"The magnitude of decline is significantly higher than we had expected"

"The notion of strategic, next-generation projects being safe is false"
DB on software:

"New project and new software license/subscription spend is being dramatically curtailed... We would expect magnitude of this shock to be on par with 2009"

"not a complete freeze on current ongoing projects, although these are likely to suffer review and delay"
Morgan Stanley CIO survey out. Importantly they did a "flash" survey at the end of the month, and you can see spending intentions plunged.
Here's YTD revisions in spending intentions by category
DB on software:

"CIOs/CTOs are already telling us they are beginning efforts to reprice their tech contracts and/or push for more-generous billing terms"
People are already worrying about seat based models, particularly those with SMB customer base. Usage based models are untested through a downturn.
