JC was once a rising star but his career went downhill after the Twin Prides disbanded.He went on hiatus for a few years and now he is ready to make a comeback but only to have a collaboration with a new rising star LXC for his first song.

The entertainment industry were shocked when official announcements were made an hour ago that caused an uproar on social media platforms.

There had been a lot of controversies floating around these past few months, which had probably led to the disbanding.

The two members Wei Wuxian and Jiang WanYin, both under Jiang Entertainment rose to stardom after thier debut four years ago.

The two were great! There had been some bad rumors about thier family but it was denied and cleared up by thier manager, none other--

than Yu Ziyuan, but also known as Madam Yu, the wife of Jiang Fengmian owner of the Jiang Ent.

Madam Yu is well known about his strict management but she is very capable of harnessing a talent when she sees it.

Everything went well, four years of success until one day--

Wei Wuxian left.

No one knew why, it left everyone in confusion. Surely something had happened, and it was not meant to be disclosed.

The last post he made is already a sign that something was up.

It didn't take too long for Jiang Wanyin's career to crash down as well, not with the several controversies he got involved with, weather it's true or not he too finally reached his limit.

Jiang Wanyin also disappeared from the spotlight.

Jiang Cheng waited for a few days and no messages from his Mother... As expected.

However he was surprised to see a familiar number appeared on his notification)

Meeting with Nie Huaisang had been nice. Its been a long time since he spoke with him, they tried to avoid talking about the old issues and focused on getting Jiang Cheng back to his feet.

Of course Jiang Cheng knew it wont be easy. They posted a photo to attract--

some attention and it worked as they expected, speculations and rumors started to spread through social media and it of course it would a be topic of a certain groupchat that he was once a part of.

(04: The offer)

JC did what he said to Huaisang, hs started searching and watched some of Lan Xichen's videos. The guy was a youtuber and joined a contest, he won and now his career is leading to a bright future.

His music is nice, his voice too and from what JC read he writes his own songs.

There shouldn't be a problem with that right? Considering that this will be only one collaboration song. It should be fine, he just needs to focus on getting this right.

JC lit his cigarette one of LXC song is playing from the computer. His phone suddenly vibrated.

JC stared at the unregistered number and raised a brow. Normally he doesn't respond to unknown number but Huaisang must have given it to some important people so he decided to respond.

The other male seemed to be quite excited.. JC played the audio clip and blinked, the music sounds really nice, it was something that he liked. To be honest LXC songs are really something.

The conversation was quick and JC preferred it that way, at least this person doesn't seemed to be pushy which is great specially if he is going to work with him.

Sighing he finished his cigarette flicking it on the ashtray and closed his eyes to have some good rest.

The next morning Huaisang contacted him, wanted him to prepare since they will meet LXC and his manager to talk about the details of their collaboration project.

Once they arrived at the studio he met Meng Yao, the man was friendly and accommodating, he seemed very close

To Huaisang, when he was introduced he gave a curt nod and Meng Yao started about how he saw him perform before when he was still with the Twin Prides.

He wasn't sure if the man was taunting him or what but he decided that he doesn't like Meng Yao that much.

Another man went towards them and introduced himself. It was LXC, he looks even more handsome in person, JC thinks the camera doesn't give him justice.

The two managers went to discuss their stuff and JC went with LXC towards the piano.

"I am really looking forward to meet you"

"I hope I didn't disappoint you then" Is JC sour reply before taking out his phone. "Can we take a photo?" he asked and LXC nodded.

JC lifted the phone and once the camera pointed at them he smiled. After taking it his smile dropped as if it was never there.

"No, no of course. it will be an honor to work with you" LXC smiled at him and he shrugged. "Anyways I finished the piece last night it seems like I got a little ahead of myself"

"I heard the clip that you sent, it was great" JC replied and LXC looked elated.

"Thats good"

"I could work with that" JC nodded and LXC smiled at him, placing his fingers on the piano key he started to play. JC picked the sheet of paper where LXC wrote the lyrics.

It was a nice song, JC felt the melody stuck on his mind and the lyrics are very well written as well

When their practice are over he posted the photo they took earlier. As per what NHS adviced him earlier, just a tease make the fans curious. Dont reveal too much and let them speculate.

To be honest he didn't get what NHS wanted to do, previously his Mother is the one handling his social media account, monitoring it like hawk until shit went down and he changed the password to have some privacy for himself.

He didn't open his acc since his hiatus.

Their schedules had been arranged, practice sessions before the recording. The song will be part of LXC new album a special entry.

Depending on the popularity of the song and sales, an opportunity for guestings as well.

When JC arrived back on his apartment he placed his bag and turned on his laptop. After meeting Lan Xichen he finally got really curious about the man, he decided to listen to one of his songs during his concert.

He lit his cigarette and played a video, now he wondered how

Long was he gone that he did not know about LXC at all. Before the song started he heard him made a small speech thanking the people who came and arrived.

who inspired me to sing, I hope you were listening, this is for you/. After that he started to sing the first verse.

JC stared at the screen of his monitor before he felt his phone vibrating. It was from Nie Huaisang.

JC flicked the ashes on his cigarette and frowned after the video ended a familiar tune played next and he frowned seeing the music video of his and Wei Wuxian's song that hit the charts 4 years ago.

Gritting his teeth he walked and slammed the laptop shut.

His phone vibrated again and saw that the message is from Lan Xichen

That was not on his Bio! How the fuck did he knew about that, he never mentioned it to anyone or any interviews.. Or did he? But if he did those are like what 4-5 years ago. He decided to let it slide.

The next morning JC is arrived at the Lan studio, he and NHS is led to LXC's recording studio. Once they arrived there the two managers started to have a chat and JC went to LXC, they both exchanged some greetings.

"Did you sleep well last night?" LXC asked

JC nodded and sat down. "I listened to the file you sent last night I suppose we could work this out really quick"

"Yeah hopefully" LXC smiled and sat down, his fingers is skimming on the piano keys before he started playing the song singing the first verse of it.

JC listened to him his foot tapping in tempo. After the chorus it was his part and JC sang it, the lyrics digging deep into each notes. Its been a long time since he sang like this, even thought it was only practice he gave everything he could.

He really loves singing. Music is something very important to him, but while in the peak of stardom, the pressure of the crowd, his mother and to himself he started loose the joy it brought to him. Suddenly everything became a competition.

Suddenly singing didn't feel like something he wanted because he loved it, it became a chore, a job and at some point he thought he would lose his passion for it.

The practice went well, they managed to work it out doing a few revisions before it was finally perfected. They are currently eating and JC took some careful bites from his burger.

"No pickles, trust me" LXC chuckled and JC blinked raising a brow.

"You dont like pickles?"

NHS asked as he took a sip from his iced tea. "Didn't knew that"

JC shrugged and glanced at LXC as he placed a glass of ice tea in front of JC.

"Do you want fries or?" he asked offering him the pack.

"No, its okay Im good" JC waved his hand and glanced at Meng Yao who

shook his head at LXC before he spoke. "Anyways, Huaisang and I talked, the recording will be done tomorrow like wise with his other songs, you can come same schedule as today.. Also we were thinking if we should do a music video" he glanced at NHS.

"A music video would be nice" LXC supplied and glanced at JC "What do you think?"

"Whatever is necessary im okay"

"Alright we will update you two with the schedules, for now lets focus on the practice and recording tomorrow" NHS smiled and nudged JC.

The remaining few hours is spent greatly, for once JC found himself having fun. It may not show on his face but he truly missed this.. A lot.

"Ill see you tomorrow" JC waved at LXC and gave a small nod a Meng Yao before he and NHS left.

Jiang Cheng watched the show, observing LXC performance, he also watched his interview afterwards. The man is very polite of his answers and wore an everlasting smile JC started to think if he ever gets tired about it.

Suddenly there was a question about the photo that JC posted on his twitter when they first met.

/We saw a photo that Jiang Wanyin posted a few days ago. Is there some sort of collaboration that will happen?/

JC increased the volume of his TV. "

"Ah, perhaps? I cant say for now but they should look forward on something great" LXC smiled.

/We will definitely look forward to it, specially Jiang Wanyin is involved, he had been in hiatus for.. 5 years--/

"Its 4 years.. He was on break for 4 years"

JC blinked, throughout the interview LXC had been polite and this was the first time he interupted the host who looked a bit shocked but immediately smiled at him.

/Yes of course! Time fly by so fast you wouldn't notice it!/ she laughed and proceeded to change the-

the conversation to a different direction.

JC stared at the TV, staring at LXC as he frowned. There is really something off with the guy.

He shook his head, he shouldn't overthink right now!

(09: Mianmian)

The talk with Mian mian brought some memeories back, when he was still with WWX side when they both did everything together.

Mianmian was there, their shows, events and guesting she had became a great part of their team and right now he is not sure how he will face her.

JC went inside the studio, NHS following him, the two managers greeted eachother, Meng Yao gave him a small nod.

He turned to see LXC waving at him and he only nodded but his attention were taken when he felt a tap on his shoulder.

"Hey, its been so long!" Mianmian hugged him patting his back as she checked his face. "You loose a bit of a weight but im glad to see you again!"

"Im glad to see you as well"

"Well let's get down to business, just like the old days"

They walked towards the mirror and JC sat down beside LXC who had his hair being styled.

"Hello Wanyin"

"Hey.."

"JC look here, will you?" Mianmian reached out to cup his cheek before she started to get to work.

JC can still remember the way Mian Mian does her job, and he couldn’t help but chuckle when she huffed at him. "I said stop moving."

"Im not"

Mianmian leaned closer to him and whispered "He is staring at you" she smirked before taking a step back retrieving the concealer.

"Who?"

She tilted her head towards LXC direction and he turned to look just in time to see the latter turning his gaze away from him and JC shook his head.

"Shut it"

She shrugged and resumed her work. "Excited to see you again behind the camera"

They both talked catching up with eachother but ever since Mianmian mentioned about LXC looking at his direction he couldn't help but steal some glances with him occasionally meeting his gaze before looking away.

Once their make up is done the two of them were ushered towards the studio, the photographers were busy checking their equipment leaving the two to have a small talk

JC weren't able to respond after that since he was called in for the shoot. LXC stood beside the photographer waiting for his turn but JC could feel his eyes on him following his every move.

JC tried to focus on the camera instead. Following the directions from the photographer

Yes he did missed this, he likes photoshoots. Probably one of the things he is comfortable of doing even way back before.

He was done quickly and it was LXC turn.

They exchanged small smiles as JC moved towards the photographer, checking the photos with approving nod.

Then it was LXC turn, the man stood in front of the camera and it was JC turn to watch. He will admit that LXC is very handsome, the way he poses and carry himself is very natural.

Very graceful with a polite smile, no wonder people loved him dearly.

He had that charm.

"Alright, lets take a set with the two of you" The photographer said and JC nodded before joining LXC standing beside him.

"Take a step closer.. Yep that's it, there you go"

JC stood beside LXC their bodies facing eachother, it was a little close but not that JC mind

He had been to several photoshoots its nothing new. He glanced at LXC who smiled at him, JC had to avoid his gaze.

"Eyes on the camera"

JC tilted his head and focused his gaze on the camera. The sounds of shutter can be heard several times before the photographer looked - @

at them, more specifically to Lan Xichen.

"Uh.. Lan Xichen? Eyes on the camera?"

"Oh yes Im sorry" LXC chuckled before tilting his head gazing at the direction of the camera.

JC shrugged before he shifted his position, the shoot continued and it had been great. they did not need a lot of photos anyways since this is only 1 song collaboration.

A few set of photos are enough for promotion and if the song became a hit more guestings would come.

"Alright! Thats a wrap! It was great! You two are great! You both look good together" The photographer chuckled beckoning them to come closer and check the raw outputs.

"This is my favourite.. Its nice" the Photographer pointed as they checked the photo.

"Yeah It's nice" JC nodded, looking at the screen, the next photos came up and it was the very first one that was taken, they are side by side, JC looking the camera but LXC’s gaze is fixed on his face.

"This is good too, but Lan Xichen isn't looking this way"

LXC chuckled and glanced at JC "I got distracted"

"Now thats rare" the Photographer shook his head before he clapped his hands. "Alright wrap this up.."

"Nice working with you today" JC said and LXC nodded, he waved before heading back to the dressing room.
"

"Uh wait! Jiang Wanyin" LXC followed him and JC turned back to look at him. "Do you perhaps want to have some coffee? That's if you aren't busy"

"I should be the one asking you that, aren't you busy?"

"Uh I have a.. Free time" LXC looked at Meng Yao who sighed at him.

Meng Yao raised two of his fingers and LXC smiled "Two hours.. I have two hours"

"I uh.." JC glanced at Mianmian, he did promise to have some coffee with her. "I already told Mianmian--"

"Its okay! Im good, besides I think I might go ahead first, Wen Qing called"

She gave JC a small pat on the back before waving at the two of them "Ill go head, thanks for the hard work everyone! JC lets have some coffee next time, Bye Huaisang!"

"Oh okay... Then how about" JC pointed at their managers who already had a cup of coffee.

"We are good" Huaisang waved and JC nodded before glancing at LXC.

"Let's get changed, Ill wait for you here" LXC smiled before walking to his own dressing room. JC shrugged before walking to his dressing room and started to change his clothes.

He couldn't bother with removing the make up now so he just changed his clothes and grabbed his things as he waited for LXC.

Checking his phone he decided to take a quick selfie, what's harm in updating yeah?

(10: Missing it)

After JC posted the photo LXC approached him a phone in hand and smiled at him.

"I found a very nice cafe nearby, we should check it out" he waved at the staff and to their managers as they left, JC following him from behind.

LXC wore a cap and a sunglasses probably to hide his identity which is Somehow kind of failed.

"Not wearing glasses?"

"Nah, ive been gone for a while people tend to forget easily" JC shrugged as they walked to the side walk.

"Thats impossible, how could someone forget you"

"At some cases i still get recognized but unlike before where i need body guards these people are quite humble so its not that troublesome"

"I see.. I do miss the peaceful times"

"Why did you chose this career though?"

LXC didn't reply first and JC thought he just brushed off the question and did not enquire further as they walked however LXC spoke looking at him.

"Its because of a very special person. I wanted to see them so badly but when I started working they left, i missed my chance"

"Thats.. Bad, very bad timing" JC said and LXC smiled at him.

"They are.. going through a hard time, its understandable.." LXC nodded a small understanding smile on his face before it changed into a pleased smile. "Oh there it is"

JC followed LXC as they entered a establishment, the first thing he noticed is the swing.. He was amused and immediately went inside

There are only a few people too which is a plus. They went to the far corner, two swings were located and between it is the table.

"This is nice"

"Right? Its very cozy"

JC nodded and sat down, a small smile on his lips as he felt the swing when he sat down. This will probably be his favourite place but of course the food should be of excellent match.

"I hope the food is also good"

They spent quite a good time chatting, surprisingly LXC is a pleasant company. He heard the man was kind but he thought that maybe LXC is just being civil and trying to leave a good impression.

Most celebraties are like that.. Including himself.

Another surprise is he seemed pretty comfortable around him, he doesn't have to.. Pretend that much.

They talked about their careers avoiding sensitive topics and moved to their respective upcoming projects. LXC had his schedule stuffed as expected from a rising star.

They parted ways after and JC texted NHS that he would head back to his apartment since there is no pending schedules today.

LXC album will be released next week its almost there and he could only wait for it.. He was looking forward to it.
