So much of Indian religion, culture, as well as genealogical records (gotras, pravaras) dates to the period b/w 1500-500 BCE

Yet so little is known about that period through historical sources

Our history books start with Magadha (circa 500 BCE)
1500BCE-500 BCE is a "dark age"
Fascinating that Indians are immersed in daily discussion of that tumultuous period which is a bit of a mystery from conventional sources of history

E.g. Everyday, Indian households discuss the two epics - likely concerning events in that period (1500-500BCE)
Even the earliest recorded ancestors who we claim as our own (through gotras and pravaras) likely belong to that "dark age"

History does not acknowledge these personages
Though millions of Indians do!
