A damning new CNN scoop reports that administration officials sounded the alarm about pandemics last year.

The administration's response?

The China cover-up held us back!

But a look at the timeline shows that this excuse is a sick joke.

Let's make this simple.

We know how to fight pandemics.

The government is full of officials who know how to fight pandemics.

Those officials *actually did* spot this one early. They sounded alarms.

What *didn't* happen is Trump taking it seriously.

Let's be blunt: Trump's depraved attack on the IG at HHS displays a mindset that could lead to more deaths.

It's *hospitals* who told the IG that they badly need lifesaving equipment. Yet all Trump can hear is an effort to make *him* look bad.

They alert us not just to wrongdoing, but also to governing failures, so we can *fix them.*

Here's a horrifying scenario.

We're about to see a serious escalation in coronavirus in the south, due to minimal social distancing.

That will hit in numerous states that *have not* expanded Medicaid.

It's a "looming catastrophe," one expert tells me:
