The economics of running a wartime economy are fundamentally different from the economics of running a peacetime economy. A wartime economy involves investing in winning a war because if you do not win the war, there is no economy to invest in.- @EmergingRoy

Everyone saying lockdowns are bad for the economy need to realize that the novel coronavirus pandemic is novel. If we don't take severe steps, there won't be an economy to grow, 'Stupidity' is the one pandemic consistently present throughout the history of humankind

Avoiding community transmission is paramount. Tablighi and Dharavi have been super-spreaders making Delhi, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu super-critical.

High time to repurpose the economy to make the materials needed to curb COVID-19 not focus on what we need usually.

Healthcare takes priority over everything else - from testing kits, medicines, vaccines, diagnosis tools, R&D.

Food and allied supply chains - Agri inputs, packaging for harvest, mills, F&V, retail, long-haul, last-mile.

Transparency on infections, cases, deaths is important to ascertain how deep the water is.

No one likes to be a barrier of bad news. Creating a digital anonymized lead entry system with restricted access to certified healthcare professionals could be a potential solution.

The world is running out of storage space. Produce thrown away yet empty shelves at supermarkets.

No packaging material, stopped trucks, space used in storing non-essential goods (outside of food, health).

New D2C logistics needed?
