Uddhava, is a pretty unknown character to most of us. (We all know Uddhav Thackeray, but I am not talking about him). He was Lord Krishna's friend and his Charioteer. Long after the war is over, and Lord Krishna is about to leave his avatar, Uddhava asks
"Why, in spite of Krishna being the lord of the universe and everything, he didn't stop the Kurukshetra war. Forget the war, if he had just prevented Yudhisthir, from playing that dice game, none of this would have happened. So why didn't he stop it? Wasn't that his failure?"
To that, Lord Krishna replies: He would have happily stopped the whole thing, but for one simple fact. Yudhishtira didn't ask. Forget asking, just before entering the court of Duryodhana for the fateful game of dice, Yudhishtira prays that Lord Krishna Shouldn't find out about it
But Lord Krishna gave him one more opportunity to get out.

When Duryodhana, asks his Uncle to play on his behalf, Yudhishtira, could have simply asked Lord Krishna, his own cousin, to play from his side. If he had done that, there was no way Shakuni could've beaten him.
But Yudhishtir never asked. Maybe it was his ego, that he can win the dice game, or something else, He never bothered to see if there was someone else, who could do it better than him.

This is a very important lesson for all of us.
If you look at our own lives friends, there are So many situations where we create difficulties and complications for ourselves, because we don't ask for help. We think we can do it on our own, and we end up complicating things.

Sometimes, all we need to do, is just ask
If asking could have prevented the whole Mahabharata from taking place, our life problems are nothing in front of it.

P:S : All the discourses between Krishna And Uddhava, are recorded separately as the Uddhava Geeta or the Hamsa Geets. If anyone here knows, please post it.
