I just want to be really, really clear about this.

Wisconsin Republicans could have taken the sensible position that it's wrong to have an in-person election in the middle of a pandemic, and either postponed it or help craft a way to do it by mail.

Instead, they fought.

2/ They did not have to insist on this. They could have cooperated to create a solution that would allow all Wisconsin voters to make their preferences known without risking their lives.

They decided instead that a seat on the WI Supreme Court more important.

3/ They thereby decided to put their own political interests above THE LIVES OF THEIR CONSTITUENTS.

Think about that.

Then, when it became clear that the election was in big trouble for lack of poll workers, they could have tried to come up with a solution.

They did not.

4/ You cannot have a legitimate election when Milwaukee, iirc the largest city in Wisconsin, is going to have FIVE polling places.

In the whole city.

WI Republicans CHOSE to put their political interests above democracy itself.

5/ It's not impossible for two parties to cooperate to solve a problem. But in this case, when not just the legitimacy of the elections but PEOPLE'S LIVES are at stake, the fact that Wisconsin's GOP just decided not to care tells us everything we need to know about them.

6/ The ONLY way to respond is to kick them out during the next elections.
