Thread: This photo is three days old. I don’t need oxygen anymore but my husband and I, two climate scientists, dearly wish that our community will learn from our experience. Try not to get exposed but also be ready to be visited by this virus. #coronasurvivor #Isurvivedcorona 1/ Image
No, I don't know how I got exposed. I live in Boulder Colorado and my doctors think there are thousands of cases here but only 200 official cased.

And no, I wasn't tested but my symptoms spoke for themselves. Yes, my second week was hard - as usually is for non-mild cases. 2/
We got an oxygen concentrator at home because my blood oxygen levels dropped to 82-85 when I walked. We kept a bag ready to go to emergency room. We haven’t needed to go and we seem to have passed through the storm without “cytokine storm” that is caused by Covid-19. 3/
No, I didn’t get high fever or a dry cough. I got severe chills, night sweats, chest pain as well as a sense of deep burning in my chest, insomnia, terrible nausea and GI issues. My husband, Imtiaz, only got very mild headache and sore throat. 4/
I was a molecular biologist and microbiologist before I started studying climate. Once my symptoms started, I did loads of research on this virus. I wish I knew what I now know about coronaviruses when my symptoms first started appearing. 5/
Yes, it is scary to not be able to breath and worry if there will be a ventilator or cytokine storm (ARDS) waiting for you but I feel this virus might be much more manageable with right info at the right time than what mainstream medicine would have us believe. 6/
Check out a very detailed timeline of my covid-19 symptoms and research on herbs/drugs/complementary therapies I used at different points in my journey. I was influenced by allopathy, naturopathy, Ayurveda, Herbology, nutiritonal science & my fears! 7/

Of course maintain distance, wear masks, know where the nearest hospitals are, deepen connection with your doctor/healers. If you trust your mainstream medicine, buy an oximeter & find out how to rent an oxygen concentrator by calling your insurance. Don’t wait to get tested. 8/
If you trust supplements, get vitamin C powder, Zinc & Quercitin. If you trust herbs, get licorice, turmeric, mullein, Japanese Knotweed or Andrographis. I researched & listed many other things along with doses in the document above. I have research on Hydroxychloroquine too. 9/
Slow down. Breathe. Know your heart & lung’s rhythms so that you can sense what they need next. It helped me a great deal. Keep it warm & humid. Eat healthy. Exercise but gently. If possible, express love. Sing & hum at exhalations: it helps create an adaptive immune system. 8/
There is a lot that we can do to empower ourselves even when governments around the world are failing us, announcing autocratic measures on behalf of disaster capitalism, creating dramatic headlines or suppressing news instead of educating public & presenting hard truths. 9/
I am trying to create an affordable & bioregional version of the document above. Am acutely aware of my privilege. I have an excellent employer & health insurance. Sick leave. Caring knowledgeable doctors. Loving family. I could spend money on supplements & an oximeter. 10/
This virus waxes & wanes crazy. I am still weak but very supported. I will not respond to messages asking how am I doing but I will do everything to help you empower yourself at this time if you have questions about research above or if you can help make healing affordable. 11/
While it wasn’t as easily manageable as some in alternative healing circles had claimed, I feel that Covid-19 is more manageable with right understating of what factors can control cytokine storm than what mainstream medicine is telling us. It is time to empower ourselves! 12/
I also used grieving techniques to not remain in panic. Paging my "climate resilience people" @annajanejoyner @maryannehitt @MaryHeglar @bethsawin @barbaraeford1 (I hope you are stronger now), @dchungyalpa @TricksyRaccoon @rachelmalena 13/13
