It's taken me over a day to get through this triple record on my #LockdownChallenge, but that's more to do with work than not wanting to listen. It's a stunner...
The second side of the third record features to of my favourite songs, not just by Dylan, but by anyone. It Ain't Me Babe and, of course, Don't Think Twice it's Alright. #LockdownChallenge

And there's another Dylan record up next in my record collection. But before we get there, go on - tell me your favourite track by the Bobster?

#LockdownChallenge
It's the delectable, delightful, Blonde on Blonde up next. A lot of people say it's his best, but are they right? What do you reckon? #LockdownChallenge Image
I think they might be. I know, for sure, that it has at least one of my favourite ever songs in Visions of Johanna. #LockdownChallenge

36th in the #LockdownChallenge is all time face for me. Right up there. What Green Feels Like by @eaves. But my first question is this. Have any of you even heard it? So far, the only people I know who have have been the ones I've forced to. Image
One such person was @ta_burrows , who I gave it to as a Blind Taste Test a few weeks back. I was glad to see he was into it, too. I strongly advise you to have a listen if you don't know it. And let me know if you do...

#LockdownChallenge

pickybs.com/2020/03/27/bli…
It's not far off impossible for me to pick a favourite from What Green Feels Like, but maybe MAYBE 'Creature Carousel' pips it. Again. Just listen to this album, I beg you.

#LockdownChallenge

There was also a bonus EP with the vinyl edition of the @eaves album. Just had a listen for the first time in ages and I'm going with Honeycomb as the standout. Seriously folks, LISTEN TO THIS GUY:

Bought this next one because it is, undoubtedly, a behemoth of an album. But it's one of those that has stayed in the rack much more than being on the deck? Any @THE_EELS fans in the house? #LockdownChallenge Image
That's been one of my favourite revisits of this #LockdownChallenge so far. Hard to pick a favourite, but Guest List was a joy today? What's your fave from the album?

Not many things better than an early morning listen to @EL__VY. And fans of @Mattberninger need not fear, this will be his first appearance of many in my #LockdownChallenge Image
I personally think it's the best non @TheNational thing that any of the band have done, but haven't spoken to many fans about it. What did y'all think? My favourite track was It's A Game:

E is proving to be my favourite letter of the #LockdownChallenge so far. Just listened to the self titled album from Everything is Recorded (@loppylugsOG) and it was an absolute treat.
I also adore the sleeve of that @loppylugsOG album. Beautiful artwork and a great graphic showing you all the artists that worked on the album. I know, I'm having a record collector nerd alert moment. #LockdownChallenge Image
My personal favourite on this one is Cane, featuring @IbeyiOfficial - but have a listen to the whole album if you haven't already:

And we covered this one way back in Episode 12 of the podcast, when @Atkins_Sam became our first ever guest. The start of the power team of picky bastards you now see before you.

40th record and we've not left the es yet. I have a lot more records than I thought. This is the solo album from @elenatonra (Ex: Re). Also known as the lead singer of @ohdaughter. #LockdownChallenge Image
I totally slept on this, didn't even know it was out for months. It's a stunner. Certainly not massively different to @ohdaughter, maybe a little sparser at times, and with some more autobiographical lyrics. #LockdownChallenge
There's a few they deserve a mention as best track. Crushing and The Dazzler for sure. But for the story @elenatonra tells, and the way the song builds, I'm going for Romance:

Up next in the #LockdownChallenge, one that I don't know any other fans of. Although I'm assuming you're all out there somewhere, right? It's the fantastic, funky, politically charged, blues rock masterpiece from @MusicNegrito - The Last Days of Oakland. Image
Tough to choose a favourite from the first @MusicNegrito record I heard. Scary Woman and In the Pines come close. But in the end, it's Rant Rushmore. I urge you to check this song and album out. #LockdownChallenge

Another of Kirsten's next. Have to admit, I'm still not entirely convinced by FKA Twigs. Huge highs, but a lot of nothing at times. #LockdownChallenge Image
That said, the highs are very high. Fallen Alien, for example:

Probably the most depressing album title in my #LockdownChallenge combined with potentially the most upbeat album. @foals with Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost. Image
This is my favourite, don't care what the rest of you say:

No 44 is one of the best debuts of last year, from Dublin boys @fontainesdublin. Was very excited by this when it came out, then overplayed it. Great to revisit after a bit of a break. #LockdownChallenge Image
So many great tunes on this one, but you can beat the explosiveness of Too Real. Top stuff. #LockdownChallenge

The last record I bought, at the last gig I went to, in 45th. Signed by the AMAZING @ChloeFoyMusic herself. I heartily recommend checking her out if you haven't already. #LockdownChallenge Image
Best song on the Callous Copper EP is, for me at least, Never Be The Same Again. No, it's not a cover of Mel C. #LockdownChallenge

Into top 5 albums of all time territory for me now. The Midnight Organ Fight by @FRabbits. Hard to express what this record means to me in so few characters, but while I listen I'd like to hear from our Frabbit followers. Best song? Best memory of the album? #LockdownChallenge Image
This album got me through a break up (as it did a lot of people), made me feel better about myself, and gave me a lot of drunken singalongs. It's a stunning, beautiful, often heartbreaking, but just as often hilarious, piece of work. Fucking adore it. #LockdownChallenge Image
It's another album which is impossible to pick a favourite from. Poke, obviously. But what about Modern Leper? Or Head Rolls Off? Backwards Walk? Keep Yourself Warm? Fuck it, I'm going Good Arms Vs Bad Arms. What's your pick? #LockdownChallenge

I have to admit I dismissed this when it came out ten years ago. Mainly as it wasn't TMOF, and maybe slightly more indie pop. But it grew on me massively when I returned, and even more so later. Now, I know that The Winter of Mixed Drinks is incredible. #LockdownChallenge Image
But come again, Frabbits..

What should I be picking as my favourite from this one?

#LockdownChallenge Image
It's another that is totally packed with anthems. Things, Swim, Nothing Like You, Footshooter, Not Miserable, Yes, I Would. Some of @FRabbits absolute best work. In the end, it's definitely The Loneliness and The Scream, though. Right? #LockdownChallenge

I'm spending most of #EasterSunday with a bunny. Or a Frabbit, at least. This time it's The State Hospital EP, which is probably as close as I'll come to owning Pedestrian Verse on vinyl for a while. #LockdownChallenge Image
@FRabbits are definitely one of those band who make b-sides as good as their a-sides, and all of them are great here. That said, I still think State Hospital is the winner. #LockdownChallenge

Another from @FRabbits up next, their last studio album Painting of a Panic Attack. Another stunner from them, for sure. #LockDownChallenge Image
I Wish I Was Sober is definitely my favourite here. What about the rest of you? #LockDownChallenge

50 records and only just reaching the end of the f section. This is a tough one for me. So pleased it exists, but as a covers celebration of one of my favourite songwriters I find it a hard listen. It raises money for @tinychanges, and that's all that matters. #LockdownChallenge Image
I think there are so many worth mentioning, so I'll mention. I'm halfway through and the standouts so far are @joshritter with Old Old Fashioned, @wintersleep with The Twist and, mostly, @FiskurMusic with Good Arms. #LockdownChallenge

My two favourites are on side c, though. No surprise when it's two of my favourite bands doing covers of Poke and Floating in the Forth. @ohdaughter just edge this because it's obviously and easier listen than @thetwilightsad:

That's it for @FRabbits in my collection (I need you, Pedestrian Verse) but before we move on, here's Episode 16 of the podcast in which I talk about why Scott and the band mean so much to me:

pickybs.com/2018/12/01/pbs…
G is the shortest run in my #LockdownChallenge since A, but we're starting with an absolute beauty from @lauragibsongirl. Empire Builder is one of those that me and Kirsten often put on after the pub (remember pubs?). One of the rare records we both love equally. What a voice. Image
We don't agree on the best song, though. Kirsten would go for Caldera, Oregon. But for me, the best track on this @lauragibsongirl record is definitely Damn Sure. Check it out. #LockdownChallenge

It's the rather marvellous self titled debut from #GoatGirl next. Grungy, indie pop from one of the most exciting young bands in Britain at the minute. Not 100% sure about the artwork, though. #LockdownChallenge Image
And despite it sounding like Dreaming of You by The Coral for the first ten seconds or so, I'll have to pick Cracker Drool as my favourite here. #LockdownChallenge

And a bit of a record collector geek out moment up next, with this limited edition release of remixes and new songs from #GoatGirl. #LockdownChallenge Image
And as good as the remix of Cracker Drool is, I'll go with Lay Down as the standout here. Probably their most explicitly political track so far. #LockdownChallenge

Slightly breaking the rules of my #LockdownChallenge here. We passed the C's a while back, but this beautiful piece of plastic from @cloth_band just landed on my doorstep so it's going straight on. Image
If you haven't heard @cloth_band yet, I strongly advise you give them a listen. Such a stunning record. Really hard to pick a favourite, but I'm gonna go with Moons. #LockdownChallenge

Okay. Back in the proper running order, it's one of my top ten records from 2019. @MarikaHackman with Any Human Friend, her most complete record yet. #LockdownChallenge Image
It's her poppiest piece so far, but also her most thoughtful. And definitely the most consistent. Each song is good, but I'll go with I'm Not Where You Are as my top pick:

#LockdownChallenge

H is a good letter for my collection. The incredible At Swim by @LisaHannigan up next. Such a gorgeous about. Stunning voice, amazing songwriting. #LockdownChallenge Image
And I'm gonna go with Undertow for my top pick from this one. Ethereal, otherworldly loveliness. #LockdownChallenge

An early morning with @AldousHarding today. Difficult second album? Pah. Party is an absolute masterpiece which you should listen to immediately. #LockdownChallenge Image
While I'm trying to decide on my favourite from the album, you could have a listen to the latest podcast. I talk about why I love @AldousHarding at the end of it.

#LockdownChallenge

pickybs.com/2020/04/05/pod…
I'll go with Imagining My Man, although it could've been any of them. #LockdownChallenge

And it's even more of a masterpiece next. @AldousHarding with her third album Designer. Love every song here, as she became even more oddball. One of 2019's very best.

#LockdownChallenge Image
And The Barrel isn't just the best song on that album. But maybe any album. Ever. By anyone. Ever. Definitely better than anything by The Beatles. #LockdownChallenge

My one and only @PJHarveyUK record up next. I think I'm in the minority in thinking this is her best album. But it is, so there. #LockdownChallenge Image
And Teclo is not only my favourite from this album, but probably my second favourite @PJHarveyUK song. Any guesses for what's in first?

#LockdownChallenge

60th record in my #LockdownChallenge is this totally fascinating Hendrix/Wu Tang Clan mashup album produced by @tomcaruana. One record has Wu Beats with Hendrix vocals, and the other is the opposite. Image
The best one on the Wu Tang vocals side of things is What's Happenin' I reckon, but the whole thing is fascinating.

#LockdownChallenge

One of the all time greats next. @MsLaurynHill should've got a lot further in our best album tournament if you ask me. An absolutely perfect piece of work. #LockdownChallenge Image
Every song is stunning, but I'll have to go To Zion personally. #LockdownChallenge

The next couple will be interesting for me. Both by @hindsband, who Kirsten loves. But despite having really enjoyed the two times I've seen them live, I've never actually sat down with one of their records. Just listening to Leave Me Alone now. #LockdownChallenge Image
You know what? It's fun, they're great at what they do, and while it'll like never be my favourite thing in the world it's well worth a listen. And I Will Send Your Flowers Back probably my highlight:

And another from @hindsband next. Stronger album I'd say. Still fun, still chaotic, still a lot heart. #LockdownChallenge Image
I would say Tester is probably the best track on here, although check out Soberland too. #LockdownChallenge

64th and we're back to mine with The Navigator by @HFTRR. One of my favourite discoveries since we started the podcast, even though it was way back in Episode 2. A bit folly, a bit rocky, a bit country, completely amazing. #LockdownChallenge Image
No doubting my favourite from this one. The Bowie esque masterpiece that is Pa'lante. If you haven't heard this song before stop what you're doing and play the whole thing. @HFTRR at their best. #LockdownChallenge

And you can listen to what we all thought of it on the podcast, ep 2(!):

#LockdownChallenge

pickybs.com/2017/04/29/pbs…
Another minor #LockdownChallenge rule bend here, but @Big_Joanie just landed on my doorstep and despite passing the B's a long time ago I couldn't not include this absolute cracker of an album. Love it. Image
And my favourite track from the @Big_Joanie record is probably How Could You Love Me. Check it out immediately. #LockdownChallenge

Onto I in the #LockdownChallenge now, which consists of one band and two records. The first one, coincidentally, is a @RSDUK purchase from last year. @idlesband with the glorious Meat EP. Image
My favourite on this @idlesband release is Nice Man. And my second favourite is the Alt J remix of Nice Man. Nice, man. #LockdownChallenge

Next up, of course, is JAAAOR by @idlesband. The best album in 2018. Simples. Love this band. #LockdownChallenge Image
And can I also just have another record collector geek moment. This @idlesband special edition is why I love collecting records. LOOK AT ALL THIS FUCKING ARTWORK. #LockdownChallenge Image
Favourite on this one? Probably all of them. But then again, Never Fight a Man With a Perm. #LockdownChallenge

And you can have a listen to how all the Picky Bastards podcast crew responded to the second album from @idlesband back in Ep 15 of the podcast:

pickybs.com/2018/11/05/pbs…
Also, I lied when I said there were only two @idlesband records in my collection. There's one more to come. #LockdownChallenge
Of course I have another @idlesband record! How could I forget A Beautiful Thing! #LockdownChallenge Image
And I don't think you can beat I'm Scum live #Lockdownchallenge

There's only one I band/artist in my record collection, and yet @idlesband managed to make it one of the best letters so far #LockDownChallenge
Crushing by @JuliaJacklin up next in the #LockdownChallenge. A truly beautiful album. Image
My favourite is the gorgeous Don't Know How to Keep Loving You #LockdownChallenge

I bought this one at @levymarket and I think this is the first it's been played. Do I love it? No. No I don't. #LockdownChallenge Image
But there are some fun songs in this 70th record of my #LockdownChallenge. How Was it For You? is one of them.

I can't tell you how long I spent sorting this #BestDebutAlbum stuff today, but I can tell you that as well as the @idlesband, @JuliaJacklin, and James records above I also listened to the following in my #LockdownChallenge
This is the first one in my collection I genuinely toyed with not listening to. Fair to say I don't have much time for Michael anymore, but Rock With You was a favourite when I was a kid. #LockdownChallenge Image
This album by @kathrynjoseph_, From When I Wake The Want Is, though, is an absolute stunner. If you don't know it I suggest you get to know it. #LockdownChallenge Image
My favourite song from the @kathrynjoseph_ is And It Will Lick You Clean #LockdownChallenge

Up next is one of the all time greats, and surely a frontrunner when our #BestDebutAlbums tournament kicks off next week. And yes, I know this is a bootleg copy. #LockdownChallenge Image
Disorder is not just my favourite song on Unknown Pleasures but one of my favourites by anyone ever #LockdownChallenge

And then came the absolutely lovely Love and Hate by @michaelkiwanuka - still his best album for me, as much as I loved the new one. This is an exceptional piece of work. #LockdownChallenge Image
If I'm picking a favourite from this one, it would have to be I'm A Black Man in a White World #LockdownChallenge

And I'm listening to the 75th record in my #LockdownChallenge, this lovely little live album from @michaelkiwanuka released on @RSDUK two years ago... Image
My favourite from this one is the live version of One More Night at London Palladium #LockdownChallenge

Next in my #LockdownChallenge was this wonder from @kendricklamar. Not a popular opinion, but it's my favourite album by him. Image
And it's hard for me to look past Humble as the best song. What. A. Tune. #LockdownChallenge

Adrianne Lenker and Buck Meek up next with Asides and B-sides, which I picked up the last time I went in a record shop before lockdown. God I miss record stores. #LockdownChallenge Image
The best one here is the gorgeous Angels #LockdownChallenge

Another Adrianne Lenker up next, the rather sublime Abysskiss. There are only 1200 of these in the world (I know, another geek moment). Any of you own one of them? #LockdownChallenge Image
There's obviously so much linkage to Big Thief in her solo work, and slightly altered versions of two songs on this one ended up on UFOF. But it is a different experience listening to her alone. My favourite here is Womb. #LockdownChallenge

And the Ls come to an end with this lovely little record from @thisisLUMP, but it won't be long at all until you see more from Laura Marling. #LockdownChallenge Image
As for @thisisLUMP - this was a lovely little surprise when it came out in 2018. And one of the best gigs of the year @thetradesclub. There are 6 proper songs here, and they're all great. Gun to my head I'd pick Rolling Thunder.

#LockdownChallenge

I was about to move onto M and a long run of @lauramarlinghq records. But then this beauty from @boniver landed on my doorstep after I ordered it from @PiccadillyRecs as part of @RSDUK #RSDFillTheGap on Saturday. It's the 80th record of my #LockdownChallenge. Image
I've picked the debut for our #BestDebutAlbum tournament, and this didn't quite live up to that standard for me. But it's still stunning. Most people would go Holocene for best song, but I've got a soft spot for Calgary. #LockdownChallenge

Thought I'd get my @lauramarlinghq part of the #LockdownChallenge underway before bed, with another album I considered for the #BestDebutAlbum tournament. I know there's a lot of Laura fans here? What's your fave track from this one? Image
I often still think this is my favourite @lauramarlinghq, even if I know it's not her best. Nostalgia, innit. Don't know which is my favourite, but Ghosts was the first one I heard. #LockdownChallenge

@lauramarlinghq pt 2 (3 counting Lump) of this #LockdownChallenge. Another absolute stunner, continuing one of the most perfect opening album runs in musical history. Not one song is less than amazing. Image
Not difficult for me to pick a favourite song here, though. Goodbye England is probably in my top 10 songs of all time and is my favourite @lauramarlinghq song. #LockdownChallenge

My only gripe with this @lauramarlinghq record is that it's a double LP. Why interrupt one of music's most perfect flows? #LockdownChallenge Image
This album was a surprising, but deserving, joint winner in our album of the 2010s podcast episode. The best song, for me, is Once. #LockdownChallenge

And you can hear what we all thought of Once I Was An Eagle in the very podcast episode. #LockdownChallenge

pickybs.com/2020/01/26/pod…
This is my probably my least favourite Laura Marling album. The fact that it's still absolutely amazing says a lot about how good Laura is. #LockdownChallenge Image
Walk Alone will be my top pick from this one, and one of my top picks from Laura's back catalogue. #LockdownChallenge

I've had a couple of days away from my #LockDownChallenge while listening to the #BestDebutAlbum tournament shortly. Luckily, I can restart with my pick as this arrived from @rcrdcltr at the weekend. WHAT AN ALBUM. Image
So many to choose from but I think I'll have to go with Role Model as my favourite track here. #LockDownChallenge

Right. Back to the official order of this #LockDownChallenge and to my final @lauramarlinghq record. It isn't her best but it's still really lovely. Soothing is my definite fave.
And so comes to an end the best run of my records by a single artist in my #LockDownChallenge so far. Here's Soothing:

Listening to the live record of Semper Femina that comes with the vinyl version. The fact that I can't hear much difference shows both how amazing an artist Laura is, and how pointless this live record is. #LockDownChallenge Image
#LockdownChallenge is kind of back on track after a few days of #BestDebutAlbum. But then I realised this beauty from @LittleSimz was out of alphabetical order in my collection. So hear it is... Image
An absolutely astonishing album and one of last year's best releases. Also that rare thing that all is editors at Picky Bs love. Although maybe we'll disagree on best song? Selfish, for me...
#LockDownChallenge

It's the delightful but devestating Dance Music from @mstrsystm next. The 88th record in my #LockdownChallenge. This was already a firm favourite, but took on huge new levels of meaning after Scott's sad passing... Image
The lyrics here are painfully honest, perfectly poetic, and just so sad. Bird is Bored of Flying is both gorgeous and heartbreaking. #LockDownChallenge

I only own two or three tiny records. Some people call them singles, but I prefer tiny records. Here's Old Team by @mstrsystm, one of the best songs from a cracking album. Also a lovely gesture raising money for the Scott Hutchison Foundation. #LockdownChallenge Image
The best song on this, unsurprisingly, is Old Team. And as good as the Mogwai remix is I'm sticking with the original. #LockDownChallenge

90th in my #LockdownChallenge is this stunning piece of work from @Matthew_Atlas - a band/artist that really should be more well known. Gorgeous album. Any fans in the room? I picked this up after watching them @DeafInstitute ImageImage
I'll go with Elijah as my top pick here, and if you do nothing else today please give @Matthew_Atlas a listen. #LockDownChallenge

Closing out the day with this stunning piece of work, in more ways than one, from @MurderCapital_. Should be in our #BestDebutAlbum tournament if you ask me, but never mind. Get it in your ears if you haven't already. Image
Nearly every song here could be the best on the album, and I'm so glad I managed to catch them live a few times before this #LockDownChallenge became necessary. Green and Blue was the one they first pulled me in.

First N in my #LockDownChallenge is coincidentally an album running in the #BestDebutAlbum tournament today. This is @Fran_Slater saying vote @Nas. This was a @RSDUK release of a live anniversary gig with an orchestra. It's a stunner. Image
My favourite track here is probably Life's A Bitch. #LockDownChallenge

Now, in my #LockdownChallenge, we move into the second longest run of records by any one band. And if you look closely at this copy you'll see a little message from Kirsten. Didn't have the heart to tell her at the time that is quite low down on my list of The National albums... Image
That said, any @TheNational is, to me, better than most albums by most other bands. I think of the first two this one, in particular, is grossly underrated. Available is my favourite here, with some trademark @Mattberninger screaming. #LockDownChallenge

And you know what, most @TheNational EPs are better than most albums by other people too. Cherry Trees gorgeous. #LockDownChallenge Image
Best song here is 'About Today'

#LockDownChallenge

But it was when they released Alligator that @TheNational became one of the best bands on the planet. WHAT. AN. ALBUM. #LockDownChallenge Image
So many unbelievable songs on this one. It's hard to ignore Mr November. But, because it has the best opening verse of all time, I'm going with Baby We'll Be Fine. #LockDownChallenge

Total life-changing brilliance was confirmed by @TheNational with Boxer. I'll never forget the first time I heard it and it is now my favourite album of all time. Amazing. Beautiful. Incredible. All the words. #LockDownChallenge Image
And unsurprisingly, from my favourite album, comes my favourite song. The majestic Slow Show. 'You know I dreamed about you, for 29 years before I saw you.' Chills every time. #LockDownChallenge

Another from @TheNational, another EP, another yellow record, another stunning collection of music. #LockdownChallenge Image
My favourite from this one is You've Done It Again, Virginia. Although they are some amazing live versions and a great Bruce Springsteen cover. #LockdownChallenge
We're still with @TheNational for a little while yet in my #LockdownChallenge. High Violet is a lot of people's favourite, and in many ways it feels like their most accomplished album. It's my favourite album cover, if that's a thing we care about. Image
And as much as I'd like to not be obvious, I'm gonna have to go with Bloodbuzz Ohio as my favourite here. It's a stunner. #LockdownChallenge

What's your favourite from High Violet? And is it your favourite album by @TheNational? #LockdownChallenge
Another record collector geek moment here. Not my favourite @TheNational album, but my favourite record in my collection. Special edition of Trouble Will Find Me with all this gorgeous artwork? Which one would you have on your wall? #LockdownChallenge Image
And when I say it's not my favourite @TheNational album that doesn't mean I don't love it. I do. Three or four songs could be my favourite, but I remember listening to Sea of Love on repeat. #LockdownChallenge

Record 100 (!) of my #LockdownChallenge and it is, if course, @TheNational. Sleep Well Beast. They're most experimental album and an absolute wonder. What did you all think of it? Image
Day I Die, Nobody Else Will Be There, System - all great songs. But I'll Still Destroy You takes it for me. Some of my favourite ever lyrics. #LockdownChallenge

Final @TheNational record in my #LockdownChallenge. An amazing, surprising, collaborative work. But I know some people didn't like that Matt was sharing singing responsibilities on it. I think those people are missed by out. Image
The Pull of You is my favourite here. #LockdownChallenge

Bit of Nirvana in the morning. It's another that I bought at a record fair and has barely touched my deck. Fairly sure it's a bootleg. Some good stuff on here, although the main thing I felt while listening was that I should get some of the proper albums. #LockdownChallenge Image
The version of Something in the Way is an absolute beaut, though. Is it just me who rates this as one of Nirvana's best? #LockdownChallenge

Followed that with this @RSDUK release of the original Juicy single. Juicy, unbelievable, and then a load of remixes of the same two songs. Proper old school single, stylie. #LockdownChallenge Image
It's obvious that Juicy is the best track here, but I'll go further than that. It's the best hip hop track in my collection and one of the most important hip hop tracks of all time. Anyone think of one that is more crucial? #LockdownChallenge

Another @RSDUK Biggie thing here, this time the double side with Craig Mack that was made as a sampler for Bad Boy. The only reason they did was to call it Big Mack, if you ask me. #LockdownChallenge Image
Juicy is the best thing on the Biggie side again, but as I picked that earlier I'll go with The What. #LockdownChallenge

Listening to the Craig Mack side of this now. Does not belong on the same record as Biggie? Anyone know anything about Craig Mack? Did he go on to do much of note? #BestDebutAlbum Image
Onto the longest run of Kirsten's records in the collection now. She's a massive fan of Agnes Obel. I like Agnes, too, but my one concern is that she gets a bit samey. So will I be bored after 4/5 records? Philarmonics is a beauty, though. #LockDownChallenge Image
I think every time I listen to @agnesobel, I remember how bloody good she is. I kept changing my mind about this best track on this one, but landed on On Powdered Ground. #BestDebutAlbum

Aventine was next in the @agnesobel section of my #LockdownChallenge. Probably my favourite. These are songs for the quiet, contemplative moments. Any fans around? Which is your favourite album? Image
And I'll have now argument here. Words are Dead is her best song. #LockdownChallenge

Listening to @agnesobel again, and I think I may have dismissed Citizen of Glass too quickly. Another great album even if I still prefer the first two. #lockdownchallenge Image
I tell you what, though. Familiar is an absolute stonker...

#lockdownchallenge

This one is only kind of Agnes Obel. It's her Late Night Tales compilation. Honestly, wasn't really in love with this record despite a few highlights. #LockDownChallenge Image
One of those highlights was Party Girl by Michelle Gurevich, though. Well worth a listen. #LockdownChallenge

Back to some actual @agnesobel now, with her latest album Myopia. Need to spend more time with this one, but it is certainly beautiful as usual. Can see why @williammallin said it is her best. #LockdownChallenge Image
Broken Sleep, Parliament of Owls, and Won't You Call Me all standout. But Can't Be sounds like the top track to me. #LockdownChallenge

I enjoyed that run of Agnes records more than I expected, but I'm glad that my 110th record brought a change of pace. The Iceberg by @ODDISEE is one of my favourite records of the last five years. Anyone know it? #LockDownChallenge Image
Not easy to pick a favourite from this @ODDISEE record as Hold It Back and You Grew Up are outstanding. But for the sheer joy it's bought me when I've seen him live, I'll have to go Want to Be. #LockDownChallenge

This was also one of the albums we discussed on the very first Picky Bastards Podcast episode. #LockDownChallenge

pickybs.com/2017/03/21/pbs…
The delightful @AngelOlsen up next. My favourite album by her, but I need to get the rest too. All Mirrors was ordered at the weekend. #LockDownChallenge Image
The thing that keeps this one above All Mirrors for me, though, is the light and shade. This has some magnificent pop moments. Hence, Shut Up Kiss Me being my favourite song from it. #LockDownChallenge

Waking up with a bit of @1trupairing. What an album. Totally underappreciated release during a massive year for music in 2019, if you ask me. A really, really great album. Check it out. #LockDownChallenge Image
Will have to let this one play through before deciding on a favourite track, but in the meantime you can check out my interview with @1trupairing (former @WildBeasts) from late last year. And/or... #LockDownChallenge

Give Episode 21 of the podcast, where we discuss the album at length, a listen. #LockDownChallenge

pickybs.com/2019/11/10/pod…
After careful consideration I've decided that I refuse to choose a favourite from @1trupairing. King of the Rats, the title song, Blank Walls, Reaper of Souls. All amazing. But I'm Not Afraid also has a great video, so here you go. #LockDownChallenge

And following @1trupairing it's another amazing solo record, this time from the late, great @owljohn. Love you, Scott Hutchison. It's an emotional week for Scott's fans and this was, as always, an emotional listen. #lockdownchallenge Image
It's another that's really hard for me to choose a favourite from, but I've always had a strong connection to Songs About Roses. The droll humour right next to the heavy emotion. Beautiful. #lockdownchallenge

Perfume Genius next in the #LockDownChallenge. This one was a gift, and I enjoyed the album. But I really didn't like the follow up and that kind of putting me off returning. #LockDownChallenge Image
Revisiting, though, it has some real highlights even if I don't LOVE it as an album. Longpig is my favourite track. #LockDownChallenge

Don't even know what this one is. Kirsten picked it up in @vinylexchange because she's Welsh speaking and it's all in Welsh. But we've never been able work out what it's called. Anyone know? #LockDownChallenge Image
Frankly. It's weird as shit. But not bad. A fun listen, and definitely interesting. Best track is this one called Pysgod by R. Seiliog. Who knows. #LockDownChallenge
I'm on leave for a few days now, so a bit of late night listening sneaking into my #LockDownChallenge. Big fans of this album from @ROZIPLAIN. It's meant to be glow in the dark but never quite pulled it off. Image
There's a lot to like on this album. I discovered her through @thisisthekit but was really pleased when this album was a joy on its own right. Conditions is my favourite tune. #LockDownChallenge

And so begins the joint biggest collection in my #LockDownChallenge. From humble beginnings, and all that. No, it's not @radiohead's finest, but anyone who writes it off as garbage is chatting shit. Some fine work on Pablo Honey. I need a better copy, though. Bootleg shit. Image
Creep is the obvious choice for top tune here, and it probably is in a technical sense. And as a career launchpad. But I've always had a soft spot for Thinking About You. #BestDebutAlbum

A big step forward for @radiohead with the amazing The Bends, although not as big a step as some would have you believe in my eyes. The real game changers were still to come. #LockDownChallenge Image
This doesn't get a lot of spins, but only because there are albums I'm more likely to go to. The Bends is majestic. For me, though, the fact that Street Spirit is so easy to pick as the highlight shows that the best was yet to come. #LockDownChallenge

Everyone remembers when @radiohead became the best band on the planet, right? Not many bands make a perfect album. This band made two. And OK Computer is one of them. The fact that this masterpiece isn't their best says a lot. #LockDownChallenge Image
I can't go with anything except No Surprises as my favourite from this one. Possibly my favourite @radiohead song full stop. #LockDownChallenge

I was one of the many who lost their shit when Kid A came out, made at some imagined slight @radiohead had commited against themselves and their fans. I wonder now if that's why it's still one of their albums I listen to the least. #LockDownChallenge Image
But what a ridiculously good album. Got to be the best left turn in music history. The National Anthem is my favourite. #LockDownChallenge

Amnesiac. The poor cousin to Kid A to a lot of folks. I disagree. An equally as interesting album, but for different reasons. Some real career highlights for @radiohead here
#LockdownChallenge Image
I think I'm pretty much alone when I say this, but Packt Like Sardines is my favourite on this one. Fucking love it. #BestDebutAlbum

I Might Be Wrong. Probably not, though. A great little collection. #LockDownChallenge Image
My favourite is True Love Waits (Acoustic), but I'm very intrigued about where fans lie. This one? Or the Moon Shaped Pool version? #LockDownChallenge

Starting my day with Hail to the Thief. Often comes near the bottom of lists of @radiohead albums, but purely based on what I most enjoy listening to I'd have it above Pablo, The Bends, Kid A, and Amnesiac. #LockDownChallenge Image
It's just an outrageously good collection of songs, even if it's not as perfect an album as some others. Sit Down, Stand Up, 2 + 2 = 5, Myxomatosis, Punch-up, and, of course, one of there very best - There There. #LockDownChallenge

It's the big/best one. In Rainbows. My go to album in pretty much any situation. The winner of our Best Album of All Time Tournament. The one with six songs that are potentially the best song of all time. Fucking glorious. #lockdownchallenge Image
Any of Weird Fishes, Jigsaws, Reckoner, Bodysnatchers, and House of Cards feel like my favourite from this one at times. But today is an All I Need day. #lockdownchallenge

The most wrong maligned @radiohead album next. Top 4 for sure. I said yesterday that they had 2 perfect albums, meaning OK C and In Rainbows. But I'm hard pushed to find a flaw here either. #lockdownchallenge Image
In fact, I love this one so much that I got part of its sleeve art permanently etched on my skin. And yes, I'm very hairy. #lockdownchallenge Image
'If you think this is over then you're wrong.'

Separator: the most underrated song in @radiohead's back catalogue.

#lockdownchallenge

126th in my #LockDownChallenge and it's basically record collector porn. This special edition of @radiohead's A Moon Shaped Pool should come with a NSFW warning. ImageImage
I haven't listened to this for a while. Largely because it was the only album I listened to for a good three months. It's gorgeous. Their most beautiful record. And look at this beautiful art. Also, a piece of tape from an old recording! #LockDownChallenge ImageImage
Very hard for me to pick a favourite between Daydreaming, Decks Dark, and Present Tense, but I love this version so much that I'm going with the latter. #LockDownChallenge

And despite that being the last Radiohead album, it isn't quite the last of their records in my collection. Fans of the band know what came next, right? #LockDownChallenge
It was, of course, OKNOTOK. It's been a joy listening to so much @radiohead in this part of my #LockDownChallenge, and the double helping if their third album was the icing on the cake. Image
Everyone was very excited for Lift when this anniversary edition came out but, for me, How I Made My Millions, Man of War, and I Promise were all better. #LockDownChallenge

And I know nobody asked, but before I move on from Radiohead, here's my album ranking:

9. Pablo Honey
8. The Bends
7. Amnesiac
6. Kid A
5. Hail to the Thief
4. The King of Limbs
3. A Moon Shaped Pool
2. OK Computer
1. In Rainbows

#LockDownChallenge
Leaving @radiohead behind, it's onto another run of Kirsten's music. But I love @fionnregan almost as much as she does. This album, The Meeting of The Waters, is a beauty. #LockDownChallenge Image
My favourite from this one is The Book of the Moon. Any Fionn fabs in the house? #LockDownChallenge

Another from @fionnregan, his latest album Cala. Honestly not my favourite by him but it might just need some time to grow. Only my second time hearing the full thing through. #BestDebutAlbum Image
I reckon I'd go for the title song as the best one here. #LockDownChallenge

130th in my #LockDownChallenge is a stone cold classic. If you don't know Rodriguez, stop what you're doing and go and watch the film Searching for Sugar Man. Image
I remember watching that film and discovering this artist. Crucify Your Mind is poetic perfection. #LockDownChallenge

The best Rodriguez song is on this album. Check it out. It's called Cause. Beautiful. #LockDownChallenge Image
Here you go:

#LockDownChallenge

Somehow we've made it to Sampha. Forgot I even owned this. Honestly think it's a record that had a massive moment, but it will not survive the test if time. #LockDownChallenge Image
No one knows me but the piano

#LockDownChallenge

2019 was one of my favourite ever years for new music. And this pop classic from @SELFESTEEM___ was my pick as album of the year. Played it to death, so it's been a little while. Like visiting with an old friend. #LockDownChallenge Image
I've never really been able to decide on a favourite track on the @SELFESTEEM___, but In Time is a banger for the ages. #LockDownChallenge

I went to four @SELFESTEEM___ gigs last year (remember gigs?). They were an absolute joy. This one that I reviewed at Hudds Library was up there with @thetwilightsad @thisisgorilla and @idlesband at @GreenManFest as my gig of the year. #LockDownChallenge

pickybs.com/2019/10/27/liv…
Another break from #LockDownChallenge protocol to sneak in a new arrival. Brutalism by @idlesband. The first of a few purchases inspired by our #BestDebutAlbum tournament. Image
Honestly, the first time I heard this @idlesband album I hated it.Then I noticed a couple of lyrical nuggets. And now, 3 years later, they're one of my favourite bands. And I discovered other faves like @MurderCapital_ and @fontainesdublin through them. #LockDownChallenge
For me, the best track is 1049 Gotho, but I'll accept answers of Well Done, Mother, and Stendhal Syndrome. Huge love to @idlesband. #LockDownChallenge

This one is called Surely Bassy record (I think). It was a freebie. There's a reason I haven't listened to drum and bass I nearly two decades. Several reasons, in fact. #lockdownchallenge Image
I'm quite partial to a red record. It helps when the music on it is as good as that on Fast Food by @nadineshah. Kind of forget how good this album is because of how much I adore Holiday Destination. But this is wall-to-wall bangers. #LockDownChallenge Image
Hard to pick a favourite here. Fool, Matador, The Gin One, and Big Hands all in contention. But I'll go with stealing cars. And if you don't know @nadineshah and want to make good use of your Sunday, give her a listen. Amazing. #LockDownChallenge

137th in my #LockDownChallenge is the best album from 2017. Holiday Destination by @nadineshah. Her best work so far, both musically and in terms of its message. A modern classic. Image
There are so many amazing, important songs on this one. Out the Way and Evil, especially. But my favourite is 2016, a song about turning 30 and a 'fascist in the White House.' Take a bow, @nadineshah. One of my favourite artists. #LockDownChallenge

From a modern classic to a stone cold classic. I love Graceland and I don't care what you say. Get it in your ears. #LockDownChallenge Image
If you don't want to groove to Diamonds On The Soles Of Her Shoes you're a robot. #LockDownChallenge

My favourite beardy folk boy up next. Love this album from @thejohnsmith but really want to get copies of some of his older stuff too. Any fans among our followers? #LockDownChallenge Image
I think my favourite from this one is probably Joanna. #LockDownChallenge

My man @thejohnsmith again for my 140th record, with this album made up (mostly) of covers of folk classics. This man has the best voice in the game. #LockDownChallenge Image
This stunning rendition of Hares on the Mountain is the one for me. #LockDownChallenge
Listening to this one definitively answered the question of whether I can separate the art from the artist/racist. I can't. Heaven Knows I'm a Bigot Now must be on a different album. Anyone want a free record? #LockDownChallenge Image
Loved this album from @Soakofficial when it came out but it's been a long time off my player. Really enjoyable revisit and reminded me I need to check out the follow up ASAP. #LockDownChallenge Image
Hailstones Don't Hurt is probably my favourite one here. Some real quiet beauty. Check her out. #LockDownChallenge

A real palette cleanser after Morrissey moment this morning. I said the other day that @radiohead had 2 perfect albums. To be clear, not many bands or artists have a single one. But A Seat At The Table by @solangeknowles is a perfect record. #LockdownChallenge Image
It's a contender for album of the 2010s, it's the best thing by a Knowles sister, and it's the most important record of its ilk since The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. Don't Touch My Hair is the highlight among highlights. #LockDownChallenge

And now to briefly interrupt the S section for a new arrival. The majestic i,i from Mr @boniver. Love this album and have completed my collection. #LockDownChallenge Image
My favourite on this one changes nearly every time I hear it, but today it was RABi. #LockdownChallenge

Just realising I broke this ridiculously long thread yesterday, so if you see some repeated tweets today it's just me correcting that monumental error. #lockdownchallenge
I picked this up when I saw Squirrel Flower support Adrianne Lenker, bit I haven't listened to it much since. I don't know why. It's a beautiful record. #LockDownChallenge Image Image
I'll go with Conditions as my favourite here. #LockDownChallenge

Not even sure where this came from. Always wanted to get into Sufjan but never have, and yet I have one of his records? Weird. It's nice, though, even if I have so many problems with Call Me By Your Name that I would need a new Twitter to discuss them. #LockDownChallenge Image
The title song is the best one here, but I'll post a lyric video so I don't have to think about that awful film. #LockDownChallenge

I don't have many records you could buy in @sainsburys, but that's where this came from. Cheers, Mum. Just because it's from Sainsbury's, doesn't mean it doesn't bang, though. Second revisit to a Manc band today and definitely the most enjoyable. #LockDownChallenge Image
Had loads of tweets saying this should've been in our #BestDebutAlbum tournament and it probably should. It is patchy, though. Sags in the middle. But I Wanna Be Adored is an all time fave. #LockDownChallenge

The archetypal difficult second album? Honestly, it doesn't have anything as good as Adored, Resurrection, or She Bangs, but it is still decent. I'm not in love with it, but it's okay. #lockdownchallenge Image
They saved the best until last on this one, though. Love Spreads. #lockdownchallenge

Okay. Thread repaired. Normality returns. #lockdownchallenge
@anna_st_louis next. Anyone know the album? Discovered her on the @GreenManFest line up last year and she's become a firm household favourite. #LockdownChallenge Image
If you don't know her already, start with Mean Love. My album highlight. But the whole second side is phenomenal. #LockdownChallenge

Another interruption to the normal order of things for my 150th record. This beauty arrived just in time to celebrate @MassiveAttackUK's amazing run in the #BestDebutAlbum tournament. #LockdownChallenge Image
I've long been a fan of the band and album, but thanks go to @Flissclarke1 for picking it in the comp. It had fallen out of my rotation but is firmly back in place now. I think my favourite is One Love. #LockdownChallenge

A bit of St Vincent in the morning. Strange Mercy is one of only two albums by her that I know well, but I really love this one. The contrast of sound and lyrical content is incredible. #LockdownChallenge Image
Can't look beyond the title song on this one, personally. What a tune. 'If I ever meet the dirty policeman who roughed you up. No, I, I don't know what.' #LockdownChallenge

Super Breaks Volume Three. Essential Funk, Soul, and Jazz. You can probably guess this isn't mine. It's good, though. #LockdownChallenge Image
I'll go with After Laughter by Wendy Rene on this one. Probably because it's the saddest song here, and we all know that's my taste by now. #LockdownChallenge

Didn't get round to posting my dinner time listen yesterday, but it was the start of a run from one of my favourite artists. The Wild Hunt by @tallestman. Amazing. #LockdownChallenge Image
Love Is All is probably the best track here, but there's a few that run it close. A good place to start if you don't know @tallestman at all. #LockdownChallenge

Still with @tallestman now, and there really is no better music for a calm morning before starting work. One of my very favourite artists, for sure. #LockdownChallenge Image
The title song from this one, There's No Leaving Now, is not only my favourite from the album but my favourite @tallestman song. So. Fucking. Beautiful. Please check him out if you don't know him already. #LockdownChallenge

One more from my man @tallestman before I go and earn my keep. Dark Bird is Home kept his sound but added some layers. A stunning record. #LockdownChallenge Image
This man knows how to pick album titles. The title song is my favourite for the second album in a row. The break in this song is fucking mega. #LockdownChallenge

We had a few new albums arrive today, and this one from @DouglasDare has to interrupt the #LockdownChallenge order. It's one of Kirsten's and this was my first full listen through but I'll definitely be going back. Eerie and beautiful. Image
On first listen I'm going for I Am Free as my favourite, but it could be just because it's an captivating way to start the album. #LockdownChallenge

Back to @tallestman for last year's effortlessly beautiful I Love You, It's a Fever Dream. Pure class. #LockdownChallenge Image
To avoid going for a title song again, I'm gonna pick I'm A Stranger Now. #LockdownChallenge

A couple more new arrivals now. This one from @KeeleyForsyth is a lovely discovery from this year, dark and brooding but totally beautiful. #LockdownChallenge Image
Start Again was our intro to this one and it's a cracking song. #LockdownChallenge

And now it's a bit of @porridgeradio - another one we would've been seeing @GreenManFest. Great album, really raw. Big fan. #LockdownChallenge Image
A few tracks I really like here, but if you force me to choose one right now I'll probably go with Sweet. #LockdownChallenge

Record 160 of my #LockdownChallenge is Let Them Eat Chaos by @katetempest, my favourite album of the 2010s. Image
And the best song on it is my favourite song of the 2010s. Europe is Lost. #lockdownchallenge

More @katetempest now, this is Let Them Beat Chaos/Let Them Speak Chaos. A @RSDUK release which features one record with the beats from the album and one with a live performance of just the lyrics. #LockDownChallenge Image
I don't go to this too often, because I just go to the album. But the vocal side of it is amazing, shows off her flow and lyrical prowess extremely well. #LockDownChallenge

Because of how much I loved LTEC, Kate's follow up was always gonna have to go some to match it. But every time I listen to this one I fall a little more in love. It's a glorious record. #LockdownChallenge Image
And with Hold Your Own, @katetempest had my song of the year for the second time in four years. #LockdownChallenge

Next up is one of the last records I bought while actually in a shop. If you haven't heard Silver Tongue by @torreslovesyou I suggest you do. Along with Laura Marling it's my record of the year so far. #LockdownChallenge Image
Theresa few I could go with here, but I think Gracious Day just edges out Good Grief as my favourite. Any of you heard the album? #LockdownChallenge

I'll also let you in to a little secret about Gracious Day, but don't tell anyone. I have somehow, in my head, turned this song about @torreslovesyou moving in with their partner into a song about the day we adopted our cat from the shelter. No idea how. #LockdownChallenge Image
We're on to one of my favourite acts in the world right now. The amazing @thisisthekit. Kate Stables is just the most lovely human you could meet, and she makes equally lovely music. #LockdownChallenge Image
This album is the one I know least well, largely because it's less available. But picked up the @RSDUK release last year. Gorgeous. Greasy Goose is my favourite track. #LockdownChallenge

I usually see @thisisthekit live at least once a year, so I'm missing gigs a little bit while listening to their albums. So good live. #LockdownChallenge
On of my prettiest pieces of vinyl, both aesthetically and musically. #LockdownChallenge Image
If you're a @thisisthekit fan you already know the best off this one. You Turnip loving bastards. #LockdownChallenge

Record 166 continues q very enjoyable run of @thisisthekit. This is, in fact, my favourite album of theirs. But probably mainly because it's the first one I heard. #LockdownChallenge Image
Nits is the chosen tune from this one, but they're all fucking great. #LockdownChallenge

Oi. Folks. After the record I'm currently listening to I will have listened to every record in this cabinet since starting my #LockdownChallenge. I only moved into the second cabinet a couple of months ago so we're nearing the end. Image
The last one in this rack is the latest from @thisisthekit - cracking record which Kate signed for me in a tiny tent @GreenManFest 2017. #LockdownChallenge Image
My favourite here is also my favourite from @thisisthekit - By My Demon Eye. #LockdownChallenge

We're now moving onto rack 2. This was bought for records, and I promise it will be full of them eventually. #LockdownChallenge Image
Rather amazingly, though, considering how today began, the first one in this rack is the runner up in the #BestDebutAlbum tournament. This stunner from @thetwilightsad. #LockdownChallenge Image
Favourite song?

Head up dear, you're shallow and blind

#LockdownChallenge

Great album that isn't actually an album. #LockdownChallenge Image
This is all I have to say

#LockdownChallenge

170th in my #lockdownchallenge is my personal favourite from @thetwilightsad and the one I discovered them through. Saw them perform most of it at @LatitudeFest 2015 and my obsession began. Image
It also features my favourite song by @thetwilightsad and, according to Spotify, one of my top ten most played songs of all time. I Could Give You All That You Don't Want. Stunning. #LockdownChallenge

I've got two copies of the latest @thetwilightsad album. The upshot of this, in keeping with my #LockDownChallenge rules, I now get to listen to one of 2019's best albums twice in a row. Image
I'll go for the blue one first, which I got signed during the acoustic set @JumboRecords. Lovely blue. Image
It's one of those albums when my favourite changes all the time, but luckily with two copies I can pick twice. Gonna go with Girl Chewing Gum for the ridiculous rumbling bass. #LockDownChallenge

I can genuinely never decide my favourite from this album. I know there's a fair few @thetwilightsad fans around after the tournament, so let's settle this. What's the best song on IWBLTATT?

#LockDownChallenge
Onto the black copy now. The record might not be as pretty, but it sounds just as good. And I think I prefer the red cover. #LockDownChallenge Image
I'm gonna go Shooting Dennis Hopper Shooting this time, largely because of the way James delivers the line 'I caught you kissing on the back stair.' #LockDownChallenge

So @thetwilightsad section of my #LockdownChallenge ends with this Tiny Record from late last year. The powerful pairing of Rats and Public Housing. Number 906 of 1000. ImageImage
Both great tracks but I probably slightly prefer Rats, if you're making me choose. #LockdownChallenge

Realising this was slightly out of order, but up next is another @LatitudeFest discovery. @ToKillAKing and their self titled debut. Haven't listened in a long time but it's definitely fun to revisit. #LockdownChallenge Image
If you don't know the band or album, Compare Scars would be a good place to start. #LockdownChallenge

We're into classic territory now. What an album. And the 175th in a #LockdownChallenge that is coming pretty close to its end. Image
My favourite here is definitely Rabbit in Your Headlights. #LockdownChallenge

In another attempt to prove that 2019 was the best ever year for new music, it's Remind Me Tomorrow from @sharonvanetten. Absolutely stunning piece of work, but weirdly the only album of hers I've heard (and so forms an idea for my next #LockdownChallenge). Image
Easily my favourite from this album, Seventeen was also one of my favourite songs of last year. Just an absolute indie-pop anthem. #LockdownChallenge

Neither me or Kirsten remember why I bought this for her but I did and she likes and I think I do too. Maybe. It's fun. Check it out. #lockdownchallenge Image
My favourite on this listen was probably the cover of Jessie Fuller's Take it Slow and Easy. #lockdownchallenge

I've not met a lot of other go who've heard this stunner from @VikingMoses. Have you? I saw him @thetradesclub and he was so good I've forgotten who was supporting that night. #LockdownChallenge Image
My favourite from the @VikingMoses is probably the title song, Cruel Child. But if you haven't heard him I strongly encourage you to give the full album a run through. #LockdownChallenge

Haven't listened to this @_Warpaint album in years but I bloody adore it. Wonder what they're up to these days? Another discography I should really dig into. #LockDownChallenge Image
Love is to Die was one of my favourite songs of 2014, but I really can't believe it's 6 years old. Such a tune. #LockDownChallenge

Found this one at a record fair and don't really know if it's a bootleg or what. Two remixes of Warpaint singles. #LockDownChallenge Image
My favourite of the two is this El-P remix of Keep it Healthy. #LockDownChallenge

That was the 180th record of the #LockDownChallenge by the way. When we started I guessed I had 180 records, but we're not quite at the end yet.
Picked this one up when I saw @kathwilliamsuk as part of @McrLitFest. Was a cracking show and I've returned to this album of Sylvia Plath songs often ever since. #LockdownChallenge Image
My favourite from the @kathwilliamsuk is probably Tango With Marco, but I can't find a vid for that one so here's Cuckoo (My Second Fave). #LockDownChallenge

Drawing very, very close to the end of my #lockdownchallenge now but I've just noticed one record I missed and a new arrival landed today. So they will now come before my final 5.
The one I missed was this, the live version of my favourite ever album. I remember queueing for this one on @RSDUK and nearly passing out from stress when it looked like I would miss out. Not sure how I passed it by on my #LockdownChallenge but I did. So here it is. Image
When it comes to favourites from this one, there's just something special about Squalor Victoria live. #lockdownchallenge

My copy of the #BestDebutAlbum tournament winner was white, so the latest to arrive on my doorstep is this ruby red beauty. It sounds crisp as fuck. Thank you @vinylexchange. #LockDownChallenge Image
I definitely typed shite, not white, there. My previous copy is shite, not white. It's actually blue. Blue and shite. But not white. Got it? #lockdownchallenge
I picked Disorder as my favourite when playing my other copy and I'll stick to that. Choosing a second best is hard. On this run through I was really digging Insight. #LockDownChallenge

Anyways. 5 more records to go and we're in the last 4 letters of the alphabet. Based on my collection so far, anyone want to guess what's left? Two are by the same artist and the other 3 all different. Go on. Have a go...

#LockDownChallenge
Just four left after this one. This is Kirsten's record, but after initial being sceptical over Amy I have to admit I'm well and truly converted now. Absolute magic at times. #LockdownChallenge Image
I'm not sure you can beat Fuck Me Pumps on this. Kind of sums up everything great about here in just a few minutes. #LockdownChallenge

A close to perfect album here. Should have done better in both our tournaments. Wish they hadn't put a bonus song in the middle of this edition, but it is still an effortless and game changing work of beauty. #LockdownChallenge Image
Very hard to pick a favourite from an album that should be listened to in its entirety every time. But I'll go with Basic Space. #LockDownChallenge

Really pleased that the last 4 of my #LockdownChallenge are all albums I'm totally in love with. @thomyorke totally nailed it with Eraser. It's a crazily good piece of work. Image
It's between Black Swan, The Clock, Skip Divided, and Harrowdown Hill for my favourite here. I'll go HH for the crazy break towards the end. Amazing. #LockdownChallenge

My #LockDownChallenge, in which I listen to every record I own, has taken nearly two months. But it'll all be over in just two records time.
My 187th is another from @thomyorke. Oh, 2019, come back - you were so good to us. This year has a long way to go to come close, and I'm talking solely in music terms at the minute. Can't decide if I prefer Anima to Eraser, though. Thoughts? #LockDownChallenge Image
Dawn Chorus is the obvious pick for top track here. And I could argue for The Axe, Not The News, or Impossible Knots. But I'm a big fan of slick @thomyorke and he is slick as fuck on I Am a Very Rude Person. #LockDownChallenge

And what a way to end my #LockDownChallenge. My 188th and final record is the almost despicably good Cocoa Sugar by @Youngfathers. A ridonkulously good record. Image
Border Girl, Tremolo, and Toy all come close. But In My View as to be the final best song pick of this #LockDownChallenge. What a way to end.

And with that, I'd like to say a huge thank you to you all for getting involved. That was nearly two months of chatting about loads of my favourite music. Amazing. #LockDownChallenge
As a little thanks, here's a playlist of almost every track I picked as the best on it's album. I challenge/dare you to play it on shuffle for an hour and not find and least one new song to love. Probably one to hate, too. #LockDownChallenge

open.spotify.com/playlist/5wo6E…
That's it, then. #LockDownChallenge out.
