It's very good that Trump called out the World Health Organization, but we should be demanding specific measures to purge it of Chinese influence, beginning with a list of mandatory resignations topped by the director-general. Further U.S. funding conditioned on compliance.
The next step in the process should be Taiwan receiving full membership and Communist China being expelled or demoted to observer status. The true history of the Wuhan virus MUST be chiseled in stone, or the Communist Party will rewrite it.
Chinese membership can be restored only with absolute non-negotiable transparency, including the handover of all records related to the Wuhan virus in their confirmed original state. China won't do it, so this will be a purely rhetorical but still necessary offer.
WHO data-sharing, and assistance beyond basic humanitarian aid, must henceforth be conditioned on absolute transparency and cooperation. Discussions end as soon as an authoritarian government refuses or conditions full access. No more junk data, no more propaganda.
No candidate for top offices in WHO can come from any country participating in China's Belt and Road initiative or otherwise receiving large amounts of money from Beijing. Sorry, you'll have to wait until your governments disengage. The CCP is a unique threat to the human race.
WHO should be given a firm timetable to implement these reforms. If the first milestone is not met, the U.S. should make it clear all funding will be withdrawn, all access will be denied, and an alternative organization that meets these standards will be created.
Charter members in the new global health organization will include Taiwan and South Korea, two of the countries with the best coronavirus responses. WHO should understand it won't be hard to convince most of the civilized world to switch over and join the winning team. /end
