All you needed to figure this out was a brain, but among journalists, it's a rare commodity.
Again this story, and countless others like it, will never get called "fake news". This moniker is reserved for the kind of bullshit that people in flyover America believe, but it's never used to describe the bullshit that urban, educated cretins believe.
Lmao, they're not giving up, why make the same mistake 29 times when you can make it 30 times?
This story is actually a remarkable piece of propaganda. Nothing in it shows the US intelligence had actually figured this out in November, which of course it didn't, let alone that Trump was informed then, but it's written so as to give this impression. Let me go through it.
"The exact date of the first report remains unclear?"

You don't say!

"early warnings"

If I tell someone in California an earthquake might happen, is that an early warning? Asking for a friend!

"potential"

You can be too prudent.
Well, that's disappointing, I was told they knew everything about the outbreak in November but now it looks like Trump wasn't told about this until January 3! Weird. But don't worry, it's because they wanted to be really sure, we know how particular the USIC is about that...
Oh yeah, I'm sure it had! Again, they had to be sure, you understand. They're not the sort of people who, for instance, would include a ridiculous story in their briefing about how Trump had been peed on by hookers in Moscow before thoroughly vetting it! They're professionals.
Well that's a bummer! It's weird that they were unable to determine the exact date of the first report (see above) if they spent so much time combing through everything they'd written before January though 🤔 Must be bad luck!
It's a pity no example of those "public clues" was given... It must be to "protect sources and methods". You wouldn't want the Chinese to know how the US intelligent services are listening to public broadcast and reading what random Chinese are saying on Weibo!
Weird.
Right, people like you and I who don't know much about this complicated intelligence work can't really understand, but it's a very *fluid* process. It's very important to keep that in mind. Fluidity is everything in that line of work.
Thank God!
By the way, earlier today, I used Twitter's search function to see who had shared the original ABC story. Do it too! It's a true Who's Who of the US media... But none of these guys will ever be accused of spreading "fake news"!
Nope! Only rednecks in Arkansas do that shit 🙃 Intelligent people like folks working at the NYT, MSNBC, New Yorker, etc. just make mistakes (although they never admit them and nobody is asking them), which is not the same thing. It's very important to understand the difference!
By the way, it took me 15 minutes to take apart this bullshit story, and anyone with half a brain could have done that even after drinking a bottle of whisky. But it won't prevent every important person in the media from sharing it and commenting about how shocking all this is...
One last thing, in case people in the USIC decided to stick around after last time and are still reading me, let me reiterate that I don't really mean what I say about you. I'm just kidding, you guys are great, keep protecting democracy and all that stuff!
