Just before we went into lockdown, Ofsted inspectors visited Kedleston High Peak children's home and school for 24 children with learning disabilities. What they found is shocking. 1/
Children have sustained injuries due to physical interventions. These often are not recorded and information is withheld. Children have been prevented from receiving prompt medical attention. Image
Children have made allegations against staff. These allegations have been ignored. Image
Bedrooms and bathrooms are dirty. Image
Children live a long way from their families. They don't have access to a telephone.

The children attend a school on site. Always a red flag.
Kedleston is a very profitable private company, earning almost £5 million a year. It receives around £30 million a year from local authorities to provide care and education to vulnerable children. Image
Kedleston is owned by private investors based offshore to avoid paying tax. Image
Ofsted has suspended inspections of children's homes during the lockdown. It is difficult for social workers and independent visitors to ensure children are safe and well.

This home was judged to be 'good' when it was last inspected in June 2019.
