Walking tonight I was overcome by what this time in our lives afford us--reflected in the light and darkness, a deep connection to having the opportunity to know love in this life.

W2/Day 2: This was the mood for the day--bewildered by the cold and reluctant to go outside...

Wanting a better now doesn't change the circumstances, so I gathered myself to go for a walk fairly late this evening. I feel an obligation to our #WalkingAloneandTogether squad and to myself. Even though the cold is Kryptonite, I let go and head out the door...

Walking at night, my only encounters are with my shadow or the animated night life all around me. Over the last two evenings I reminded of my 6-word story on race: What color am I when dreaming? This walking at night is like floating in a future dreamscape.

W2/D3: Lured to play & wander on this sunny day, I was joyful to see all the blooming flowers. Entranced by this long line of tulips, I tried to capture what I was experiencing for my fellow travelers...so I decided to take a panorama. To know a place is to have a panoramic view

Being in the midst of this pandemic asks each of us to slow down and take a panoramic or complete view of our worlds. How can we walk around our communities near and far and have a more complete view? What allows us to not know the lives of our fellow beings?

W2/D4: The physical distant + socially connected constraints have inspired another game: DOINK! Each player is tasked w/ catching a pine cone thrown from the other side of the street. I lost to my kid neighbor 23-21! He says he's 6 and a half. I need to see a birth certificate!

Sharing the household with many beings, I'm tasked with learning about how to ask for what I need...

W2/D5: Walking, wandering and wondering today about symbols, signs and soundscapes...As I was passed a picket white fence, I remembered that this was part of the narrative I was fed: future landscape of success! Now I ask myself is that symbol for making it? Security? Liberation?

I got to thinking about hoboes & their signs+symbols. How might we read signs+symbols in our environments? What messages have we been left to keep us safe & on the right path? How might we attune to ancestral messages? How might we be sign+symbol makers? What are we signaling?

As a kid, I remember dressing up as a hobo for Halloween...a classic 70s look! However, I didn't know hoboes had a code of ethics that they abided by.

What would a loiter's code of ethics look like? Signs, symbols and soundscapes?

Tonight the air felt incredibly still. I was not as assured having been guided by 1000 wind chimes on previous evening strolls. What sounds signal assurance and safety? For some of us the silence is spacious and liberating. I used to experience it as deafening and terrifying...

I return home the way I started the day with a cup of tea. Yearning to develop and maintain rituals of liberation. #WalkingAloneandTogether is one of those rituals. Like breathing...it is giving me life.

W2/D7: Georgie and I are wrapped up in what's happening with the BNN aka the Bird News Network! There was a back and forth call and response with Georgie chiming in at times. These are the sounds that envelop my morning and grateful to be present to listen and notice.
