Interview with a pulmonologist who experienced a moderate case of COVID-19:
archive.fo/2zCml

Includes a description of subjective symptoms of severe systemic inflammation: "cytokine storm".

In brief: everything aches, some swelling, visual phenomena, difficulty breathing
Treatments used: tocilizumab, hydroxychloroquine, lopinavir-ritonavir, after which improvement was rapid.

This followed worsening for 3-4 days without specific treatment.

The patient-physician credited mainly tocilizumab for prompt symptom abatement. N=1 but matches evidence.
Some residual lung impairment.

One interesting point-- substantial amounts of jet black sputum on coughing during recovery. Reported to contain remnants of shed necrotic lung tissue.

Brings a new meaning to 'coughing up a lung,' I suppose.
