Someone pointed me to a NY Times article looking at the modeling problem. The journalists appear to have no understanding of the models other than social distancing. There is a half sentence dedicated to China data might be a problem. 1/2 nytimes.com/2020/04/10/nyr…
If you honestly have no idea what you are writing about: DON'T WRITE ABOUT IT! We've gone over just some if the reasons why these models are wrong. Maybe get an expert (not me) who is an imbued unbiased observer of that model to tell you it's strengths and shortcoming 2/3
Completely unskeptical view of these forecast by journalists and their refusal or inability to ask basic questions about these models is a major problem. If you want to advocate: fine. That's not journalism. It was a major failure to do no due diligence or digging on these models
