if you think both parties are the same, consider this: [a systemic problem that exists regardless of who is in power]
joke clarification for liberals: this tweet isn't saying that both parties are the same in every regard. thank you
clarification part II: okay so the point of this tweet is that people often argue ineptly against the idea of both parties being the same by misidentifying systemic issues as solely caused by one party. it is not saying both parties are exactly the same (see clarification pt I)
usually if i have to clarify this many times i blame it on me communicating poorly, but i'm fully pinning this one on you lot

lil thread: thinking about youtube's three strike system wrt my vid about kjk. over the course of watching her videos i found hundreds of times she arguably broke youtube's rules, but maybe a dozen or so concrete, unarguable examples. times where she says harassment is good etc
i reported one of these, and keen's channel got a strike, which included a one-week livestream ban. once she was back, i did another, resulting in a second strike and a two-week ban. once she was back again, i reported a third, and nothing happened. they would have had to ban her
i still had like 10 examples of things on her channel that would have got her either her first or second strike, but after reporting all of those youtube ignored them. instead of banning her they had an internal review of her channel, and decided to demonetise it
obvious point but worth repeating every so often: the right-wing stance on lgbt+ rights exposes their claimed love of individual liberty as a lie
shouldn’t the right - with their claimed love of individualism and hate of ‘big government’ - fully support the right for each individual to present as they wish, to love who they wish, to act as they want with any other consenting individuals, free of government interference?
what we actually see, of course, are conservatives using the big governments they claim to oppose to limit the freedom of individuals. enforcing traditional power structures and behaviors takes precedence over any supposed love of freedom
musk's basic problem is that twitter was not being run by lefty sjw types surpressing free speech, it was being run by business people who were trying to make money. with the same aim he'll end up trial-and-erroring his way back to their exact policies
a series of "oh, so that's why they were doing it like that" moments
i mean the actual process would involve a lot more whining and pretending the new policy is different to the old policy ofc. but this in spirit
i hope the guy kiwi farms doxed thinking he was me never got any shit over it
they watched graduation videos from my university until they found a guy called shaun they reckoned looked like me. he didn't. i didn't even go to my graduation
that place had a weird combination of putting in an extreme amount of effort in order to find something intimidating and zero effort into making sure it is accurate. they were so wildly off the mark with everything wrt me that i'd never trust anything from there about anyone else
the heroine of rowling's new book has an awkward interaction with a man asking her out, and then later, bemoaning her lack of social skills, worries that he "probably thinks I’m special needs"
yes i'm reading it. so what
i would advise not reading it unless hundreds of pages of fake internet chatroom drama sounds like a good time to you
