lil thread: thinking about youtube's three strike system wrt my vid about kjk. over the course of watching her videos i found hundreds of times she arguably broke youtube's rules, but maybe a dozen or so concrete, unarguable examples. times where she says harassment is good etc
i reported one of these, and keen's channel got a strike, which included a one-week livestream ban. once she was back, i did another, resulting in a second strike and a two-week ban. once she was back again, i reported a third, and nothing happened. they would have had to ban her

this is one thing in particular i wish was more widely understood: capitalist governments want there to be a certain level of unemployment. sometimes they intentionally try to increase unemployment! all while blaming the unemployed for a variety of social ills
employers use the threat of workers being replaceable to keep wages low. if everyone is employed - if there's no pool of unemployed workers to pull from - that threat vanishes. & then the workers are free to press the bosses for raises & more rights

obvious point but worth repeating every so often: the right-wing stance on lgbt+ rights exposes their claimed love of individual liberty as a lie
shouldn’t the right - with their claimed love of individualism and hate of ‘big government’ - fully support the right for each individual to present as they wish, to love who they wish, to act as they want with any other consenting individuals, free of government interference?

a thing that annoys me about liberal defenders of liberal governments is a willingness to let them off the hook at 1 excuse for inaction. "we can't do the needed thing, because X" is so often just accepted, there's never a backup plan or alternate route expected of those in power
if the rules say you can't, use your power to change the rules! that's what power is for. if the public aren't with you, what are you doing to change their perception? if you don't have the votes, what are you doing to get them? just saying 'go vote' doesn't count
