It’s becoming increasingly obvious that Right Wing and corporate agenda makers planned on rolling out a full scale “reopen the economy” blitz over Easter weekend and Trump couldn’t help but jump the gun and push it weeks before.
The possibility that Trump might’ve previewed the Eastern weekend reopening push on Fox News, which was awful fast in unleashing the “that would be a great American resurrection!” line is also there, but it’s obviously an organized rhetorical push with the holiday.
People need to understand that political movements, particularly ones like the GOP that actively blend nationalistic and religious ideologies, use holy days and holidays for rhetorical foundations. The idea of a resurrection is usable for a messiah and national/economic purposes.
Political movements using religious ceremonies and myth for political purposes happens all over the world. Americans are in denial, though, that it happens here and that it’s always, always extremely effective.
