We've learned that at the level of power laws are basically just whether or not you agree to be bound by them and most media will only report "both sides" regardless of fact so I actually think this would work.
At the very least it would be fun if Obama would start doing live TV press conferences that would start 5 minutes before whenever Trump announced he was going to go on.

To be clear I don't think this would save us or anything but it would make Trump nuts and that's good.
It doesn't have to be Obama. I think for example Tom Hanks could probably do it, or maybe The Rock, or Oprah.

I'm not even saying it's a great idea. I just think it would probably work. Trump has shown how far you can get in Stupidity America on utter bullshit.

One answer is, acknowledging that it's a tragedy that people are dying by the thousands is a partisan issue in this age of deliberate Republican incompetence, murder and lies.

At every press conference Trump's asked questions that invite him to at least acknowledge that what's happening is a tragic disaster, and he berates the questioner. And his confederates and spokespeople follow his lead. And so w/their cultish voting base.

So now it's partisan.
Going beyond Republicans, Covid19 victims are dying from the virus, but also because they've been made vulnerable by the demands of late-stage capitalism, and capitalism is the American god, which must never be questioned.

Klobuchar is just a nightmare pick.
Add no energy, energize no base, put no states in play, no olive branch to progressives, just more dull status quo centrism in a desperate time. Worst choice he could possibly make.
Just to be clear, though I don’t like centrist policy; I mean she’s a nightmare from a point practicality. Of all the people on the list she is the least likely to help Biden win by far.

i’m not a huge Harris fan for example but Harris would at least be a boost to the ticket.

The reason as I see it is, there isn't an easy villain.

There's an *obvious* villain—the American God, capitalism, but many are psychologically unwilling to see the American God as the bad guy, thus, many are psychologically unsure of how to think of its victims.
What do you do when your god kills people?

If you worship that god, you start to make a story.

The subject of the story is how those people deserved to die.

A very common story—in the halls of power, the most common story there is.
Yes, and how do you memorialize people that your god killed, if they deserved to die?

That's not what they're saying yet. But that psychological implication is everywhere, everywhere.
