Your periodic reminder that the very first thing we do as we prepare a manuscript for copyediting and design is kill all the double spaces.
I dunno, double space truthers, maybe look at a book published these last sixty/seventy years or so.
Also, some of you could stand to learn how to work the tab button, and that you can actually insert a page break rather than hit the return key TWENTY-FIVE TIMES.
I'm somehow reminded of an email exchange that concluded:

SOME PERSON OR OTHER: I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.
ME: I'm glad you think so.
Oh yes, that was the email exchange in which it was explained to me that the last arabic page number of a book indicates its length. (Apparently thirty-odd pages of frontmatter don't count.)
Dreyer's English "ends" on p. 291. Dreyer's English is 320 pages long.

It's the "I can't operate on this child! He's my son!" of book publishing.
