It is a tradition in our local churches to have a sunrise Service for Easter Day, at 630am on top of our local hill, Tegg’s Nose.

I woke just before 5 so decided to go for an early #EasterWalkWithGuinness

(Long thread with lots of photos; feel free to mute)
At 530 it was still dark but the birds were singing
We could just see where we were heading for

#EasterWalkWithGuinness
Walking across the fields, I saw a bat darting around - pipistrelle, I think.

We arrived at the reservoir just as it started to get light

#EasterWalkWithGuinness
As the sky started to turn pink, Guinness became visible!

#EasterWalkWithGuinness
The pink sky was spectacular

#EasterWalkWithGuinness
Guinness crossed the stream as we started to climb

#EasterWalkWithGuinness
A little more birdsong (and Guinness)

#EasterWalkWithGuinness
Nearing the top and definitely lighter now - around 630am

Guinness enjoyed himself while I was making videos; he ate all the biscuits from my coat pocket (I’d foolishly put my coat on the ground)

#EasterWalkWithGuinness
At about 0650 the sun rose above the hills
(Guinness did get in the way of one shot)

#EasterWalkWithGuinness
And so we set off to walk back down to Langley

#EasterWalkWithGuinness
The views were just as good going down

#EasterWalkWithGuinness
And Guinness still had plenty of energy (probably due to the biscuits)

#EasterWalkWithGuinness
And down to the bottom; back to the reservoir

And Langley Methodist Chapel

(Where we would usually have bacon and eggs after the Sunrise Service - but today I had to walk home for breakfast!)

And finally - almost home, and Guinness needed a rest. So did I.

Hope you’ve enjoyed this #EasterWalkWithGuinness

A Happy and Peaceful Easter to you all.
