/10 I’m seeking advice on whether collective legal action or prosecution for gross negligence manslaughter would be most suitable for Boris Johnson. His negligence and incompetence has caused (and continues to cause) the preventable deaths of thousands of UK citizens.
/10 I understand a collective legal action has been started by doctors in France: and I think the case against Boris Johnson would be even stronger.
/10 Although the bar for a prosecution for gross negligence manslaughter is a high one, Boris Johnson’s negligence seems to meet the criteria: cps.gov.uk/legal-guidance…
/10 When Boris Johnson was AWOL for the second half of February, not only was he neglecting the misery caused by the floods, he was neglecting the opportunity to properly prepare for Covid 19.
/10 When he finally returned to public life, his interview on Friday 28th February betrayed a scandalous lack of care, urgency and attention to detail: bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-pol…
/10 This was further compounded by the misguided ‘measured response’ of early March, which allowed Cheltenham festival, the Liverpool/Athletico Madrid match, Crufts, countless skiing holidays to northern Italy and many other high risk activities to proceed.
/10 As we are now being continually reminded, movement restrictions and social distancing policies protects the NHS and saves lives. How many infections and deaths could have been prevented if these restrictions and policies had been implemented earlier?
/10 How many more test kits and how much more protective equipment could have been provided to the NHS and care homes if Boris Johnson had ‘ramped up’ preparations earlier?
/10 I fear a future public enquiry will come too late and will lack the powers to uncover the truth. The penalty for non-cooperation and perverting the course of justice must be jail, otherwise Johnson, Cummings et al will not cooperate and will lie.
/10 I’m unsure whether collective legal action, prosecution for gross negligence manslaughter or some other legal process would be the most suitable for Boris Johnson’s negligence. Any thoughts?
Update 14th April: Here's a link to a crowdfunding page to obtain legal advice on the best way forward:
