To test the hypothesis that we are a software simulation, we could have millions of people carefully observe new, different, and complex environments at the same time.
If we are software, the processor will be strained creating complex backgrounds on demand that would otherwise not exist.
Then we see if the “clock speed” of reality slows down to handle the peak load. Whatever that means.
I doubt my crackpot idea has merit. But think about how one might test our reality to see if it is software. It’s a fun thought experiment.
