PSA for anyone running large Zoom meetings and wanting to pre-assign people to breakout rooms. Despite this feature being officially supported, we've confirmed that you can't pre-assign more than 200 participants at once
Here's the help doc, which clearly states that you should be able to have up to 50 breakout rooms, with up to 200 participants EACH (theoretical max of 10k participants at once), limited only by your licensed meeting capacity

Here's the email from Zoom support saying that the documentation is incorrect, and that the feature is in fact limited to 200 participants total. They said they're working on getting it fixed
I'm sharing this to save others the headache. We designed our whole program around being able to train discussion leaders and pre-assign them, one per breakout room. Now we have to redesign around the 200-person limit
