"We are moving in the right direction, but we have not reached out destination."
Dr. Russell is encouraging NBers to keep doing what you're doing. Wash your hands, limit leaving your home, keep your distance when you do.
She says there have been a lot of NBers who have reached out, asking how they can help.
People or businesses have inquired about donating their stock of medical equipment.
She says this has touched her heart.
"There will be a strict process to vet protective gear."
Information on how to donate is now posted on the GNB website -
You'll be asked for the equipment manufacturer, its age, etc.
If your donation is accepted, a pick up will be arranged.
"The desire to help is second nature to New Brunswickers."
Premier Blaine Higgs:
"It's understandable if you're starting to feel just a little bit restless."
He recognizes that many are anxious and unsettled.
He's asking that NBers check on their neighbours.
Or call a senior to see how they're doing.
Reach out to local businesses, and thank them. Make a purchase if you can.
250 tests have been done over last 24 hours in NB.
Of 67,000 applicants to the one-time $900 benefit, 33,000 have been processed.
Over $30 million handed out so far.
Premier says NB EMO has adapted COVID protocols with any flood plans.
Like physical distancing while sandbagging.
And what happens if flooding forces evacuations? Accommodations will be arranged through the Red Cross, rather than families seeking accommodation through friends.
He says he's hoping the coming days and weeks have no or few cases.
"Boring is what I'm looking for."

Insp. Kimberly Quartermain, a critical incident commander, says it was a male who was barricaded today in his own home, but voluntarily left around 3:40 today.
It was a neighbour who contacted the police. They saw a male with a firearm. Not sure if it was outside or inside the residence. The male is 28 years old, and police “have had previous contact” with him.
Police are aware of two long guns, a bullet proof vest and knives in the residence. The residence is still being secured. No shots were fired.
I'm back in court this afternoon for the Matthew Raymond trial -
Jury is in the room, cross examination has continued of Alex Pate. The Crown is asking about prior interviews/court appearances where Raymond was upset, spoke out, and in some cases, yelled during a proceeding.
We're listening to another audio recording, from June 18, 2019.
Justice Ferguson is explaining to Raymond that what he says in the courtroom can be used as evidence. Raymond says he has been asking to speak to his lawyer.
Crown completes its questions.
Defence begins again.
We can identify him only as Jeffrey because of a publication ban.
He says he recalls Raymond talking about the earth being flat and conspiracies that high-level government workers ran the world.
"When we came in he always told us to turn our phones off or put them in the truck off the car...I told him no one's listening to him, no one cares...he just had it in his head that he knew things."
Court has resumed this morning for the trial of Matthew Vincent Raymond.
I feel I should say, some of what I’ll be tweeting over this trial will be difficult to read and potentially triggering. Please keep that in mind if you’re following along. (File photo)
A paramedic who responded August 10/2018 is the first to take the stand this morning. She says at about 10:30 this morning “things actually started happening.”
She describes learning that her ambulance would be transporting the suspect to hospital. It was her second day on the ambulance.
“I was only in charge of taking vitals...and then they started...doing their head to toe assessment.”
