Insp. Kimberly Quartermain, a critical incident commander, says it was a male who was barricaded today in his own home, but voluntarily left around 3:40 today.

@CTVAtlantic It was a neighbour who contacted the police. They saw a male with a firearm. Not sure if it was outside or inside the residence. The male is 28 years old, and police “have had previous contact” with him.

I'm back in court this afternoon for the Matthew Raymond trial -
Jury is in the room, cross examination has continued of Alex Pate. The Crown is asking about prior interviews/court appearances where Raymond was upset, spoke out, and in some cases, yelled during a proceeding. We're listening to another audio recording, from June 18, 2019.

Justice Ferguson is explaining to Raymond that what he says in the courtroom can be used as evidence. Raymond says he has been asking to speak to his lawyer.

Back from lunch.
Jury is in the room.

Brother-in-law is still on the stand. We can identify him only as Jeffrey because of a publication ban.

He says he recalls Raymond talking about the earth being flat and conspiracies that high-level government workers ran the world.

I'm covering this today --

This update is focused on blended learning and technology for students.

"We've offered mixed learning models to reduce the number of students in classrooms."

@CTVAtlantic "Mixed learning means that most students will go to school every other day."

The days that high school students are not in schools are "not vacation days."

Students at home will have to maintain contact with their teachers/students. Attendance will be recorded everyday.

Today: David Coon announced, if elected, he would allow a designated family caregiver for nursing home residents, someone trained in covid protocols who could visit their loved one more often.

PC candidate/social development minister Dorothy Shephard responded to that... She said nursing homes will "hear some news today that they can begin to start having intentional visitors that will be designated for each family member."
