This argument b/w Trump & state governors is tricky. Let’s remember, states’ rights was the argument of segregationists & slaveholders. So the discussion must be handled carefully.
But the president is not an absolute power. We, the people, have the power. All power is derived from the people to be used for the good of the whole.
The president cannot use whatever power the office has to undermine equal protection under the law for all people. There is nothing in our Constitution that says we do things merely for business interest.
No, the only use of power is for establishment of justice, providing for the common good, promoting the general welfare, & ensuring domestic tranquillity.
