I have no problem with the government decision not to publicly discuss how we exit lockdown.

We all complained at their mixed messaging over social distancing/ Stay-home. So we shouldn't complain that they're not saying how some rules will no longer apply to some people now.
Choosing not to PUBLICLY discuss HOW we exit lockdown doesn't prevent the government sharing their plan with the shadow cabinet so that political parties can reassure the public that there is A plan.
Nor does it prevent confidential explanations to business associations.
Like I said, mixed messaging.
If even "step outside your door and clap" can be confused with, "go and start clapping next to strangers on Westminster Bridge" ...
Maybe for now, it's best to just stick to: Stay home; Protect the NHS; Save lives.

Be careful with this story.

While it is shameful that our government would turn down an opportunity for more life saving equipment during a health emergency purely due to pathological europhobia... Unless the EU ventilator scheme proves successful, it was a foul with no harm.
Please recognise two things:

1) Accusing the government of extreme and toxic europhobia won't hurt them. Hell, it won them an election. So while we find their rejection of the EU ventilator scheme for political reasons shameful, it won't tip the scale.
2) The government allowing mass gathering while other countries locked down means we're dealing with a level of governmental incompetence that has already *provenly* caused avoidable deaths.
Pointing to things that don't hit that bar, doesn't strengthen the argument against them.

Don't be taken in by the "Murdoch wants to destroy Boris" angle. It is objectively good that people see the extent of Johnson's negligence over Covid-19.

People who otherwise saw Boris Johnson as a saviour of the British people now know his actions are linked to British deaths.
Personalities are important, but keep your eyes on OUTCOMES.
If we let our opposition to Murdoch maintain Boris Johnson's grip on power...👎🏿

I'm seeing a worrying trend of helping Boris Johnson keep power by pointing to the worst people among those who oppose him.
For example:
I can't overstate how much I dislike Corbyn, but as I said at the time, the best he could hope for was a referendum coalition with his hands tied by the SNP/Dems. So he was never going to have power.
All the campaign against him in December did was help Johnson get MORE power.

In 2016 the UK was declared hugely unprepared for a pandemic, and instead of fixing that, the government spent all its resources on Brexit negotiations & No-Deal preparation for 4 years.

So I don't even need to convince you that Brexit *itself* cost lives. Implementing it did.
3..2..1.. "It was remoaners refusing to accept..."
1⃣ Johnson's deal would have gone through if the PRO-BREXIT DUP hadn't blocked it.
2⃣ Walking away with No-Deal would've made it much worse (below) and staying at the table left our NHS unprepared.
i.e The Brexit vote trapped us!
Sorry, I'm wrong there...
There was ONE way out that would have freed up resources to get our NHS prepared for a pandemic, if it had been voted for and conducted once the Brexit deal had been negotiated at the end of 2018... It's on the tip of my tongue.
