1/ THREAD

We’ll be learning together on this 1. Here are the highlights up so you can feel what I’m feeling

A company that has a history with:
-2 senior personnel dying in plane crashes
-Computer predicted a surprise Prez election (like 2016)...in 1951
-7 dwarfs
-China hacks
2/ This started when I was researching people who disappeared.

You may have seen my earlier (loosely thrown together) thread on Oscar Acosta, tied to Adren0cr0me & disappeared around the time of Jim Acosta’s supposed birth & his poorly sourced background
3/ I found an man named George Cogar whose plane crashed and was never found.

He was the inventor of Data Recorder Magnetic Tape & an intelligent terminal - essentially the basis of a large portion of modern computing.

Naturally the government was interested in his product
4/ He was the head of the UNIVAC 1004, which was in 1962.

Details are sketchy (much deeper digging required on timing).

But I looked into UNIVAC & holy shit. Read this again.

Think of the shock of 2016.

Think of a computer in 1951 predicting that.

Look who it was built for:
5/ The US Atomic Energy Commission.

They had a computer in 1951 that predicted a 2016-Like shock

The MEDIA was *so sure* that Adlai Stevenson would win that they decided the computer made an error & didn’t include its prediction.

It got the results right within 1%.

In 1951
6/ If you’re familiar with Moore’s Law, the (oversimplified) definition is computing power doubles every two years.

1951-2020

***What kind of technology must exists?***

But back to Mr. Cogar.
7/ It’s unclear what he was doing at the end of his life, but he was still working in the 70s. In 1983 he disappeared.

The largest manhunt in Canadian history was started & a $1 million reward was offered.

They never even found the wreckage.

(Here’s a bunch of extra info)
8/ But back to UNIVAC - & Disappearance #2 - 44 years *earlier* at a critical moment in the product’s history

UNIVAC was made by a company called EMCC.

In short, EMCC was going broke.

A man named Harry L. Strauss got investors to pour $500,00 into it

Things were good...
9/ Then: TA-DA!

Strauss dies in a plane crash in 1949 (“7 out of 10”) and investors withdrew all support.

A co. called Remington Rand swooped in.

From this point on, the owner of the UNIVAC technology gets really complicated so I’ll (over)simplify it in the next tweet:
10/ But first - more details on the Presidential election prediction and Fake News showing how deep its roots go:
11/ UNIVAC path

Rem-Rand > Merges & becomes Sperry Rand w/ UNIVAC Division

Oops - another detour!

I promised “7 dwarfs”!

Sperry Rand was headed by General Douglas.

UNIVAC was part of a group known as ***IBM & the 7 Dwarfs***

Sound familiar?

“Go deeper”
12/ UNIVAC path

Rem-Rand > Merges & becomes Sperry Rand w/ UNIVAC Division

Drops Rand > becomes Sperry

>>> Important: Becomes *Unisys* in 1986.

3 years after UNIVAC’s father disappeared
13/ Fast-forward: Unisys is a real POS company. The “Controversy Section” of their Wiki Page is a fucking train wreck.

Go read it. But right now just look at this one:

Their infrastructure for the DHS transmitted data to fucking CHlNA!!!!!
🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
14/ So to recap, this company’s history includes

-2 plane crashes of the most important people in their history

-Tech in 1951 that predicted a shocking Presidential election

-7 Dwarfs

-Their infrastructure leaked DHS data to our worst strategic enemy

That is 1 dirty history
