China is responsible for the pandemic.

What happens next will require the most skillful use of diplomacy, intelligence, and national resolve that America can muster.

Here's how this fmr CIA Officer thinks we should do it.

First, we need to assemble the evidence.

For the past several months, Trump's team has been doing exactly that. The US intel community, Dept of Defense, & State Department have been tasking sources and collecting corroborating info.

That will continue.

Watch for the phrase "high degree of confidence."

The evidence we collect must come from multiple types of intel -- human spies, phone intercepts, emails -- & multiple sources of each.

It should also contain intel from allies.

They should all say the same: China is culpable.
We then need two reports: classified & public.

The former would go to foreign governments, building the foundation for a global response to hold China accountable.

The latter should be revealed by Trump in an Oval Office address to the nation.

We need to rally around the flag.
Both reports should focus on not just the virus but the failure of China to be a global partner, eg:

-Theft of intellectual prop
-Facilitation of NK nuke program
-Assisting Iranian missile program
-Engaging in human rights abuses
-Ignoring slaughter of endangered animals
-Etc
Why focus on things other than the virus?

Each nation will respond to different pleas. For instance, the slaughter of endangered animals resonates with many African nations that have suffered from poaching for traditional Chinese medicines in wet markets.

For Americans, many will be riled into action because of 1) the virus fallout and 2) China's 20 yr war against our economy.

We're also angry about the drugs pouring into our streets, Made in China via Mexico, that the regime has refused to stop.

After releasing the reports, we should make no demands.

Ask China how they'll make amends.

The goal is to 1) give China a chance to redeem itself or 2) encourage internal CCP fights to change leadership.

Pres. Xi should go. But that's not our call.

Let their people demand it.
China will almost certainly reject fault. For anything.

The world will then have a slew of individual and collective responses. The most potent is the removal of China from the World Trade Org and tariffs / sanctions on the regime.

Key to economic squeezing is Russia.

At present, Beijing and Moscow have an awkward alliance. They both need and use each other, especially against the West.

If Trump & the world can get Putin on board -- drug deals will need to be made, eg Crimea -- then Prex. Xi will break.
Concurrently, Trump and his team will need to lead a global PR campaign based on the sins listed in the public report, collaborating with willing allies and twisting the arms of unwilling partners.

Engagement of the citizenry of each country will be of vital importance.
China will almost certainly launch a counteroffensive.

They've spent 30 years building a global network of economic allies and useful idiots.

They'll leverage those relationships and push back.

We'll need to adjust our strategy as the backbones of allies weaken.
In the U.S., many in the press and Democratic party will side with the regime because 1) they hate anything Trump does and/or 2) they hate America.

Consider Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) saying China bears no blame for the virus, but Trump does.

We'll have to remain vigilant against progressive treachery.

And we'll have to shut them down through better arguments, better organization, and grass roots engagement with our friends and neighbors.

It'll be a battle for the hearts and the minds of every single voter.
That means next Nov is the most important election of our lives.

America loses if Biden wins.

Joe is compromised by his continued denials of the threat China poses, plus his own family's corrupt ties to Beijing (eg - Hunter's receipt of $1.5B in 2013).

Upshot: We have a chance to remake the world.

For decades, global elites have ignored the threat from China or, worse yet, they've profited off their rise.

And now we're paying the price.

But there's a narrow window of time to change everything.

We need Trump to seize it.
