Unless we are very lucky the coronavirus will be here for years. Maybe forever.

We don't know if there can be a vaccine. We don't know if immunity is permanent. We don't know if there can be a treatment.

And everything we learn about it makes it more dangerous and deadly.

Can we ever safely reopen schools, restaurants, movie theaters, churches, stadiums? Offices? Weddings? Birthday parties? Polling places? Sidewalks?

We don't know.

We certainly can't until we have universal testing.

But we eradicated polio and smallpox.

We don't know if we can eradicate this virus. And if we can, we don't know how long it will take. A year? Ten years?

Until then at least, nothing will be normal. What we think is normal may never again happen.

We need leaders who can figure this stuff out.

The steps the morons leading America now are taking will make our survival harder.

If America survives until November, we can elect new leaders. If we survive until January, they can take office.

Protect yourself. Listen to smart people. Ignore Republicans.

Enough non-morons have to survive to rebuild what's left of America. Don't expect this to be over any time in the next several years. The world has changed.

None of them can reopen without massive testing (and then only for the "right people") or universal vaccinations.
