Exactly a year ago,Jet Airways turned off its engine

In this thread, I will post pictures of some landmark moments of one of the finest product, Indian #aviation had

~ JRD Tata & Naresh Goyal stepping out of Jet's first flight from Mumbai to Ahmedabad on May 5, 1993
Saroj Dutta, member of the founding team & Jet's crew infront of the airline's first acquired aircraft- a Boeing 737

Dutta became face of efficiency of private hands in commercial #aviation

He passed away in 2015

Jet before its rapid decend, had a fleet of 112 aircraft
The crew uniform of Jet Airways was one of the most elegant across global airlines winning frequent awards !

An evolution of the crew uniform which had the imprint of Sabyasachi Mukherjee to the last one being designed by Italian Robert Capucci #aviation
Once a staunch opposer of foreign investment in airline, Mr Goyal was the first one to get it with Etihad picking up 24% stake in the airlien

Ball till last day unsuccessfuly negotiated a bailout of Jet
Jet Airways was one of the first Indian airline to understand the power of smaller aircraft to make 💰 in India's regional routes

It was the first Indian airline to fly the @ATRaircraft aircraft

The first 68 seater arrived sometime in 2013

This haunting pic of @NidhiChaphekar sitting dazed in bright yellow yet composed, became a face of the strong character of Jet Airways crew and the Brussels airport bombing in 2016

Jet had its European gateway in Brussels and shifted it to Amsterdam later #aviation
Last: S2-3502 from Ahmedabad to BOM was the last time Jet Airways operated a commercial flight

Ironically it was with a Jetlite aircraft

In 2007, Goyal acquired Air Sahara from Subrata Roy for $340 million and turned it into Jetlite

One of the primary reason of the downfall

Jet Airways still has around 15 aircraft including 10 Boeing 777 lying all across the country

Jet engineers are still on duty to preserve & maintain those aircraft [END OF THREAD] #aviation
Someone pointed out that thread will be incomplete without portraying how much the crew loved working for Jet Airways

This is cabin supervisor Qaiser Malik on 19 April,2019 when he & his colleagues gathered at Jantar Mantar seeking a lifeline for the airline
