I’ve just returned to Beijing from Wuhan and here’s the welcome committee.
We’re divided by area of residence. Mine was right at the end and there were two neat rows of other residents alrdy waiting. I felt like the latecomer on a package tour
Package tour with virus characteristics continues when we’re each given identifier stickers.
“Ok the latecomer is here we can go now.”
About a dozen other people and I have been put on a coach where the driver has been sealed off from the passengers by massive plastic sheets. The windows (by that I mean 2) are open.

We’re being taken to another location for further checks.
At a community centre near the Temple of Heaven, we had our temperatures taken, luggage disinfected and confirmed our identities.

Then we were further split up according to streets and put on mini buses. I’m with four others. No plastic sheeting here.
Had to fill up a bunch of forms at the gate (complete with nosy neighbour trying to find out what’s happening) and... I’m through.
So here I am, ready for my third quarantine of the year, and the strictest yet — even opening my door will trigger an alarm the neighbourhood committee is supposed to install.

But it’s been an hour and still no sign of them.
Right then, there we go. For the next 14 days, every time I open my door, an alarm goes off in an office somewhere...
I’ve just had a look at the notice on my door. It has my quarantine dates on it, where I’ve returned from, and “invites everyone to supervise” my quarantine.

But who watches the watchmen?!
