Guys, a friend of mine who is a high-powered attorney and comics fan sent some notes to me about the comics shop situation and I don't know what to think about them.

This is NOT me, I don't know a thing about real estate.

But it's interesting. Curious to hear from others. 1/
He said, "One of the things that these stores should be doing over the next 6 months is renegotiating their leases, because commercial real estate is going to go down, it is inevitable. "

More.

2/
He continued. "Either that or review the lease for leverage, and consider moving locations, because a bunch of cheap space is going to come online."

3/
He said, "Retail across the board is getting pounded so they should have leverage with commercial landlords. "

4/
Now, I 100% don't know ANYTHING about running a store or retail real estate transactions and I DO know some stores have already talked to their landlords with mixed results.

But my friend felt it was important to get the message out there to consider. 5/
I'm not a lawyer or a retailer or landlord. This advice isn't from me, it wouldn't even occur to me. I'm just passing it along.

Curious how people feel about this advice, though!
