1. Amnesty's ex-researcher Hind Khoudary now deleted her Twitter account—@hind_gaza—after NY Times reported she used her social media to incite Hamas to arrest Gaza peace activist Rami Aman for his Zoom call with Israeli activists.

2. Amnesty must call on Hamas to #FreeRamiAman.
She also appears to have deleted her Facebook account (facebook.com/HindUsama) which she used on April 9th to tag three Hamas officials & call their attention to Rami Aman's crime of holding a dialogue with pro-Palestinian Israeli peace activists. Mr. Aman has since disappeared.
Rami Aman heads the Gaza Youth Committee, "a pro-peace activist group & member of the Alliance for Middle East Peace. The Committee tries to unite Israelis & Palestinians, holding bicycle 'Rides for Peace' with people on either side of the Gaza border..."

On this day 11 years ago, April 17, 2009, the ambassador of Qaddafi's Libya was all smiles as Chair of the U.N.’s Durban II World Conference on Racism. But she went into shock when we brought a famous victim of Libyan torture to take the floor & call out her own country’s racism.

One week ago today: Hamas arrested Gaza peace activist Rami Aman for his Zoom call with Israeli activists. He has since disappeared.

Shame on Amnesty International for refusing to call for his release—especially when their ex-researcher is the one who reported him. #FreeRamiAman
Amnesty International was founded to free political prisoners, and so it must speak out for Rami Aman. That their ex-researcher @hind_gaza reported him to Hamas while identifying herself as an "Amnesty International Research Consultant" only adds an additional moral duty.
To their credit Aman's arrest was reported by @olireports @guardian @KhaledAbuToameh @Jerusalem_Post @AFP @AP @Reuters @faznet @Telegraph; @halbfinger & @IyadAbuheweila @nytimes reported on Hind Khoudary's "angry denunciations on Facebook of Mr. Aman & tagging 3 Hamas officials."

@Sophiehrw, why would you say that human rights abusers' membership on the UNHRC comes "without terrible consequences"?

The opposite is true:

1/ Abusers sitting on the UNHRC ensure that it grants impunity for most of the world’s worst regimes, including....
2/ ...adopting 0 resolutions, 0 urgent sessions and 0 commissions of inquiry on gross and systematic human rights abuses perpetrated by Algeria, China, Cuba, Egypt, Hamas, Iraq, Nicaragua, Pakistan, Russia, Turkey, Zimbabwe, and many others.
