It is becoming clear that there will need to be a full-scale judicial inquiry into the UK’s readiness for this crisis, the decisions taken by Government, and lessons to be learnt.

Important points made by Nurse and Boyd: the inquiry has to wait until those concerned are no longer focused on actually dealing with the crisis; and the key point isn’t blame (though blame may follow from the facts found) but learning lessons.
