I've decided to replace all my #Google docs with @NotionHQ docs for several reasons. I've already replaced #Evernote notes and my @trello board (and @asana in the past).
Needless to say, the simplicity and beauty of the design of Notion is one of the strongest pulls and hides a surprising amount of power it has in creating complex documents.
Ease of use, creation and commenting on mobile devices was one obvious platform shift for documents which has till date been missing.Evernote definitely tried to do that but mostly remained a notes taking app. Also the keyboard shortcut commands are great additions for engineers.
The dynamic nature of documents and document templates get you jump started. I just realised that I'd been creating templates for myself manually all these years in Google docs. My Evernote notes were barely structured, hence kept mostly to myself.
Using Notion reminds me of the first time I tried out @figmadesign , I could use it as my scratch pad for ideation and creating polished drafts to be used in production, I could collaborate with my team, version control. All of this on a very intuitive board.
Small things that make you feel ♥️ include things like being able to export a page into markdown format, seeing when someone has looked at my docs, web clipper to bring content into the app, editing in blocks rather than simple text.
Kudos to the whole team at @NotionHQ @akothari @ivanhzhao and several others I haven't tagged here! 👏
