USC-LA County Study: Early Results of Antibody Testing Suggest Number of COVID-19 Infections Far Exceeds Number of Confirmed Cases in Los Angeles County
#Breakdown: 4.1% LA County adults are antibody positive for COVID19. That means roughly 220,000 to 440,000 people had the virus at some point in the past, even if they never showed any symptoms...
....more antibody testing could tell us which communities have infections. But Dr Neeraj Sood of USC says even if you are antibody positive there’s no knowing how much immunity to the virus you have or how long that immunity will last. Read more here --> bit.ly/2KmhK6w

#NEW: As of today in LA County, if paramedics/EMTs can’t get a patient’s heart beating again on scene, they will no longer transport that patient to the hospital.
That way, doctors in overrun ERs can provide care for patients who are viable. New directive below.
Medical director Dr. Marc Eckstein of @LAFD tells me wait times are dangerously long.
During Christmas week, one hospital had 19 ambulances waiting to offload at the same time.
People going to ERs without life-threatening problems, are waiting 12-18 hours just to get seen.
Why not take patients to other counties?
He says, “the reality is the entire region is severely impacted right now. So there's really nowhere to go. Orange County and Ventura County, they're all experiencing the same surge right now... this is not overstating the situation.”
